I was looking for a concert-size Uke for a novice and was drawn to the Kohala name - I was unable to get the E string tuned properly and the overall sound quality was poor. The tuning knobs felt rough and inexpensive. I couldn't return it fast enough.

Ordered this online but was disappointed when I went to pick up at my local store. The strings and tuners seemed pretty flimsy, the finish was kind of cheap looking. I wasn't expecting much but looked at the Luna Soprano uke in the store and it was of much higher quality for 10 dollars more so I exchanged this one on the spot. The Luna wasn't concert size but it sounds so much sweeter.

My grandson who lives in California will be 7 this month. He wants a ukulele for his birthday. In researching them I see they come in soprano, tenor, and concert. What is the difference and what do I need to get for him?

It's all different sizes. You would probably want to go with the Tenor, which is the middle range.
