I use LP's Sound Enhancer Snare on a side mounted timbalito in a large acoustic percussion suite, however in a small music ensemble. The convenient removability gives the capability of having a snare drum for a song, in an instant. The magnetic holding ability appears to be adequate and any clock position on a flanged metal hoop, for mounting, is possible. The unit however will only produce a tight sounding share effect , that chokes the natural tone of the drum head and shell. To produce a looser snare effect, the angle of snares, with respect to the head would need to be adjusted, by either bending or deforming the snares or snare plate OR by installing an angled shim between the snare plate and the holder. Small screws are present to enable the latter to happen. A strip from a plastic shim, used in wood working, would probably work. If the angle of the magnet in the holder could be adjusted then this accessory would have universal snare tensioning capability, but this would require a mfg. improvement on the part of LP.
Great device for those who go outside the normal set-up.

I perform a one-man show and use two marching snares without bottom heads on the floor. One is used as the "bass" drum and the other as the "snare". The one I use as a snare is tuned much like a timbale might be. With this LP Sound Enhancer I can add an actual snare SIZZLE to this drum, and it sounds like a full on snare drum! I had to use a spring clamp on the device to keep it from popping off the rim, but I could not care less about that. Some drummers may not like the look of a clamp on the drum? If that is no problem for you, check this device out. It IS much cheaper than adding another snare drum.
