Good quality at a great price.

I was doing a cover of the Toto song, Africa. For percussion, I was using my Roland electronic cajon, along with tambourine, cowbell and maracas. The only thing missing was the claves. Stopped by the local Guitar Center and picked up a pair and they worked great.

Mixed quality: Dull sound

At this price, I guess quality control is lacking. I have tried other pairs (same claves)-some of them are much better and some of them much worse. If you have a few dollars left in your budget, they may be worth the gamble.

Using this as part of an accompniment for a "Carribean" sound, exactly what I wanted with a very clear sound. Records well with a Dynamic mic.

I used to have a pair like this (Aspire). Each had a different diameter with the striker being the smaller one. They were perfect to switch pitch. Are these the same? Thank you.

No, they are not. According to LP's website - "Clave and striker are the same size (8" L x 1.25" W)"
