Description
Torrefied Sitka Spruce Top for Vintage-Style Warmth
One of the standout features of the AEG-1 is its torrefied Sitka spruce top. Through a process of heat treatment, torrefaction naturally ages the wood, enhancing its tonal properties to mimic the sound of a well-played vintage guitar. This treatment gives the top a rich, open tone with increased resonance and sustain, perfect for players seeking the depth and warmth of an aged acoustic guitar. Paired with Indian rosewood back and sides, the AEG-1 delivers a balanced, articulate tone that responds beautifully to both fingerpicking and strumming.
Advanced HiFi Duet Electronics for Seamless Amplification
Equipped with the custom LR Baggs HiFi Duet system, the AEG-1 delivers professional-grade amplified sound without sacrificing its true acoustic character. The system combines HiFi Bridge Plate Pickups with the studio-quality Silo Microphone to capture every nuance of the guitar's natural tone. Whether you're performing live or recording in the studio, the HiFi Duet system ensures that your amplified sound is as clear and dynamic as the guitar itself.
Slim, Comfortable Design With Premium Tonewoods
The AEG-1 is built for both comfort and performance, featuring a slim C neck profile made from African mahogany. The 16" radius Indian rosewood fingerboard offers smooth playability, while the 25.625" scale length provides excellent intonation. The thin acoustic cutaway body, combined with the torrefied top, ensures that the guitar is both responsive and resonant, making it perfect for long performances or practice sessions.
Built to Perform in Any Environment
Designed for versatile use, the AEG-1 excels in both acoustic and amplified settings. Whether you're performing on a large stage, recording in a studio, or playing at home, this guitar delivers consistently high-quality sound. The elegant gloss finish and torrefied top add a touch of vintage aesthetic, while the custom soft shell case ensures your guitar is protected wherever you go.

I've been searching for an electric acoustic guitar that sounds authentic for several decades and it appears my search is over. Lloyd and his team have delivered an instrument that delivers a realistic acoustic guitar sounds. The guitar is well designed and was delivered with a decent setup. The gig bag is well built and a nice to have. My only beef (and this reduced my review by one star) is that there were some minor blemishes which escaped quality control at the factory (see pics) I look forward to using this guitar for practice and live performances.

I was all ready to buy one. Tried my friend's at a gig this weekend. It came from GC. Terrible setup right out of the box, unplayable. Had it professionally setup, now plays great. The sound is incredibly boomy, you have to dial out a ton of low end. Could not get it to cut thru the band. Hopefully it was pilot error on my part. Tried it thru a Fishman Loudbox Mini and an AER Compact 60, not happening. The other guitarist had a Collings OM-1 with a Baggs Hi Fi Duet thru a Fender Acoustic 100, sounded way better. Maybe it was just me.
