Line 6 | POD Express Bass | Sound Samples

Description
The POD Express Bass from Line 6 puts exceptional bass tones at your fingertips in an ultraportable package. Derived from the award-winning HX modeling technology, this compact yet powerful unit gives you seven amps, seven cabs and 17 effects to shape your sound. With simple, familiar controls, you can quickly dial in tones from crisp and modern to warm and vintage. The POD Express Bass is designed to go where your music takes you, powered by three AA batteries or an optional 9-volt power supply.

HX-Quality Modeling for Authentic Tone
Thanks to HX modeling, the sounds and feel you get from the POD Express Bass are indistinguishable from the real thing. Seven amp models provide tones from classic to modern, with seven cabinet models to match. The 17 effects include distortions, compressors, synths, modulations and delays—even a looper for creative layering on the fly. The results are bass tones that inspire, with the nuance and complexity of high-end outboard gear.

Simple Controls for Quick Creativity
Even with its impressive capabilities under the hood, the POD Express Bass is designed to be fast and intuitive. Familiar knobs for gain, bass, mid and treble make it easy to shape your core tone, while dedicated knobs for each effect type mean you can blend in the perfect amount of reverb, chorus or fuzz in seconds. Tap tempo and a tuner are also built-in for convenience on stage or in the studio. With the POD Express Bass, creative freedom is always at your fingertips.

Connectivity for Recording and More
The POD Express Bass has all the connections you need for practice, recording and performance. Stereo outputs provide a full, rich signal to amplifiers, mixing consoles and recording interfaces. A headphone output is ideal for private practice anywhere. The built-in USB-C audio interface allows high-definition recording and re-amping in your digital audio workstation. You can also connect an optional expression pedal (sold separately) for foot control of volume or two external footswitches to select presets or turn effects on/off.

Take Your Tone Anywhere
Weighing just over a pound and powered by three AA batteries, the POD Express Bass is built to go where your music takes you. Rehearsal rooms, studios, stages—this compact unit delivers the same great tone everywhere you play. For maximum convenience, you can also power the unit with an optional 9-volt adapter (sold separately). Wherever inspiration strikes, the POD Express Bass puts studio-quality bass tone in the palm of your hand.

The absolutely perfect first bass pedal.
Ignore all of the effects for now. This thing has a Tuner, Loop Pedal, EQ, USB port for recording to your PC and making presets, 2 lines out, and a headphone jack so that you can practice with it silently, and best of all it runs on DC power of three AA batteries if you want to go mobile with it. Now the effects - Helix basically took a variety of their best effects and amp models and gave you 4 awesome distortion sounds, 4 funky weird Synth sounds, 4 compressors AND a chorus, phaser, flanger and delay. And 7 models of some of the most iconic bass amps ever made. Yes, it's plastic, but I've already dropped it on my hardwood floor twice with no damage. At the price it's an absolute steal for what you are getting. It's so much fun and the different sounds inspire me to play more and try new things. I'm a fan.

Software not ready Android o/s
Out of the box was easy to get started with convenient headphone jack to dial in cool tones and effects. Annoying flashing led, no display, too difficult to program with out interface to a computer. Android app wouldn't connect after ALOT of wasted time trying to resolve. Exchanged for a Boss GT1-B, which is well worth it for all the extras at a slightly more cost IMHO.

Right now I'm using it as the final pedal on my board, as both a practice headphone amp and a line to my actual amp/speaker combo. I haven't used it as a direct line out into a PA or for recording yet, but I am certain that will happen!
Nice investment

Line 6 made a great product. Tons of features, almost too many. Makes it slightly complicated to use. I would purchase it again and would recommend it to friends. The headphone feature makes it easy to practice without bothering others. #sweepstakes

IS THIS A PRE-AMP OR BOOST?
The Line 6 POD Express Bass is not strictly a preamp or a boost pedal, though it may have elements of both within its functionality. What it is: A multi-effects processor specifically designed for bass guitar. It includes amp modeling, cabinet simulation, and effects like compression, drive, modulation, delay, and reverb. It’s built for convenience and portability, offering several core bass tones and effects in one compact unit. What it is not: It is not a dedicated preamp pedal (like an Aguilar Tone Hammer or SansAmp Bass Driver DI), although the amp/cab sims can function similarly in a signal chain. It is also not a dedicated clean boost pedal, though some patches or effects within it may increase gain/output.submitted4 months ago
