Description
The Line 6 POD Express Guitar effects processor enables you to craft your signature sound and take it wherever you play. With models derived from the award-winning Line 6 HX family, the POD Express Guitar provides high-definition amps, cabs and effects in an ultraportable stompbox format. The simple interface makes it easy to dial in and save your tones, while the optional expression pedal (sold separately) and footswitches give you hands-free control of parameters for a customized playing experience.

High-Fidelity Modeling
With seven amps, seven cabs and 17 effects—including distortion, modulation, reverb and delay—the POD Express Guitar delivers authentic tone and feel. The HX-quality models provide exceptional sound quality, allowing you to achieve lush reverbs, crisp delays and saturated overdrives. The looper also lets you layer multiple parts to create full arrangements and practice tools.

Take Your Tone Anywhere
The POD Express Guitar's compact design lets you take your tone wherever you go. Powered by three AA batteries or an optional power supply (sold separately), this conveniently sized stompbox is ideal for gigging, recording, practicing and jamming with friends. The durable polycarbunate chassis protects the internals so you can toss it in your bag without worry. With stereo outputs and a headphone jack, you can plug in wherever inspiration strikes.

Simple and Intuitive Controls
Despite its sophisticated modeling engine, the POD Express Guitar is easy to operate. The uncluttered interface features a single knob to select amps and effects, as well as dedicated knobs for gain, volume, treble and bass. You can quickly build presets with your favorite tones and toggle between them with a single footswitch. The large display provides at-a-glance viewing of amp, cab and effect settings in an organized layout.

Connect and Control
The POD Express Guitar effects processor offers several connectivity options for integration into your setup. In addition to the main outputs, the USB-C port provides an audio interface for recording, re-amping and monitoring with your digital audio workstation. You can also connect an optional expression pedal to control volume or effect parameters in real time. Up to two footswitches allow you to select presets or turn effects on and off for a streamlined playing experience without bending down.

Works better than expected.
I'm a gigging musician, and I have a family at home that needs sleep at night. I can play this through headphones, I can plug it into my small mixer and play at low volume, or I can plug it into my bands pa and play live with it. It works pretty good for all three actually. I figured it would be great for practice, and I was right. Simple and intuitive. They released an editor program for it so you can get to every single parameter you need. Don't get me wrong, I love my physical real amps, especially the tubers, but this thing shocked me when I tried to use it live. I built myself a few patches and laid out the pedal as I wanted and I'll be darned it sounded way better and authentic than I had expected. First gig I tried to use it on, I liked it so much I just used it the whole 4 hours. And been using it at gigs ever since. Very well worth the amount of money even just for practicing. I think if I had to be absolutely picky, the only only downside if at all for me would be I do wish it had an xlr out (not necessary) and possibly an effects loop. But that's just being picky lol. All in all fantastic product at a fantastic price. Built in effects sound fine to me. I used it at a jam last and my friends were eyeballing it and talking about how it impressed them, and they're thinking about nabbing one. Thanks line 6 and gc for the affordable modelling option.

I would not buy this product again
I printed out a ton of instructions to be able to understand all of the features of this pedal. It was extremely difficult to use let alone try to save any presets on it .Some of the sounds I was looking for were accessable at one time - but when I tried to access them again I couldn't remember how. Just way too complicated- better off buying a few separate pedals or even a modelling amp.

Compact and versatile. Battery life is minimal, not practical for gigs without a power supply. Foot switch functions seem to randomly move, requiring unplugging to reset to the default function. I paid full price and within months (too late to return), found sales for $50 off.

I didn't expect a lot from this pedal, but I found it had some great tones. Specifically, the clean tones were very authentic and useable, as were the crunch tones from adding drive to the clean amp. I'm not a big fuzz or metal person, so I can't vouch for these. And I like that it can run on batteries.
Great sounding versatile pedal

I am a helix user for many years now, and I love it. I purchased this for an easy to take along amp modeler. It sounds great. It is a learning curve for saving presets, but not too hard. Very hands on and easy to dial in tone pretty quick for jamming. Saving the preset is easy so you can get it back later. For recording I will still go with Helix or Scuffham amps or mic up my amps, but for a quick practice solution, or jamming with friends without carrying a lot of gear along, this works perfectly for me. Connect an expression pedal for volume and put a crybaby in front of it and I'm ready to make some noise and quickly. Very happy with the times from this pedal. Sounds are definitely from the Helix sound engine. While you can't dive as deep into modifying the tones, they start out pretty good and don't really need a lot of tweaking for practicing and jamming. And with headphones it sounds really good too. A great pedal that I will get much use out of.

The POD Express is a lot of bang for the Buck. I originally bought it for the amp and cabinet simulation but ended up using it to replace my other effects when I found how much you can fine tune all the effects in the POD Express editor on my laptop. I also like how small it is.
I would buy this product again…

Looks like everything has to be changed by hand. How do I change a setting by foot
You're correct that the Line 6 POD Express Guitar is a compact, hands-on pedal and doesn't support deep foot-controlled parameter editing like some multi-effects units. However, it does allow a limited amount of control by foot: Here's what you can change by foot: 1. Preset Switching (Footswitch Tap) Tap the footswitch to cycle through the four onboard presets. Press and hold the footswitch to enter tuner mode. 2. Expression Pedal Control (optional) If you connect an external expression pedal (via the EXP jack), you can control: Volume, wah, or other assignable parameters, depending on the preset. The expression pedal function is preset-dependent and not customizable from the unit itself. To change other settings (amps, effects, EQ, etc.): You’ll need to turn the knobs by hand.submitted4 months ago
