Line 6

collapse expand iconDescription

The Powercab 112 Plus active speaker system was purpose-built for guitar players who want to use amp modeling technology. Developed by Line 6, pioneers of modeling amps and effects, the Powercab 112 Plus does for guitar speakers what their Helix series did for guitar processors. The Powercab 112 Plus is the only speaker system that provides both a neutral, full-range response as well as proprietary speaker modeling technology for a dynamic, amp-in-the-room experience.

Load Your Own Impulse Responses

While the Powercab 112 Plus comes ready to use with six meticulously modeled classic guitar speakers, it also gives you the freedom to craft your own signature tone. With 128 user-loadable preset slots, you can upload third-party impulse responses and adjust settings to your heart's content using the free Powercab Edit software. All presets are recallable, MIDI-controllable and can be used in Flat, Speaker Modeling or IR mode for maximum flexibility.

Built for the Stage

Weighing just 36 pounds, the Powercab 112 Plus is a lightweight powerhouse ready to accompany you on tour. Its highly efficient 250-watt amplifier delivers an ample 125dB of volume, filling small venues easily, while an XLR output with microphone emulation means you can plug straight into the PA for larger shows. Sturdy plywood construction and a unique curved back design provide road-worthy durability and rigidity without sacrificing portability. When used as a floor monitor, the Powercab 112 Plus's built-in kickstands allow for perfect angling.

The Perfect Match for Any Modeler

While designed to integrate seamlessly with Line 6's Helix series, the Powercab 112 Plus pairs perfectly with any amp modeler, preamp or stompbox-based amp simulator. In Flat mode, its full-range response accurately amplifies the sound of your presets as intended. But the Powercab 112 Plus's crowning achievement is its groundbreaking Speaker Modeling technology. Rather than cabinet emulations or impulse responses, Speaker Modeling provides dynamic speaker models of six classic designs, allowing you to experience the sound and feel of playing through those vintage cabs.

Pushing the Limits of Speaker Design

The Powercab 112 Plus accomplishes its range of tones through a custom hybrid coaxial speaker combining a lightweight cone and 2" voice coil for authentic guitar speaker response with the extended range of a pro PA driver. The end result is an active guitar speaker system that looks, sounds and responds like a real guitar cabinet while also providing a neutral, full-range platform for your modeler's cabinet emulations. For guitarists seeking the ultimate tone, feel and flexibility, the Powercab 112 Plus is in a class by itself.

Such an innovative new setup!

Granted I am still diving into this thing, it's been an absolute blast doing so! I have been using a Helix since they released, and this not only frees up the DSP used by my IRs and Cabinet mods, but the versatility between the two of them is unparalleled in my opinion. Being able to switch between so many different cabinets and IRs with the flick of a knob or better is absolutely insane and the power this thing packs is unbelievable. Currently selling a 2x12 and poweramp because this has rendered them both useless ten times over. I can't wait to master what this has to offer. My one downside would be the placement of the UI isn't totally ideal. Especially if you have the amp tipped back it's effectively out of reach for me without almost falling over it. Other than that, can't find a downside!

Great to have a flat response to accurately recreate tones from my quad cortex. The speaker modeing is also an excellent feature for use with tube amps for recordings. These features together make it great for both live and studio use. Plus this thing can get loud if you need. Awesome tool for studio and stage.

I hooked this up to my helix and it did not sound good. Two simple tweaks made it sound great: 1) Set the incoming signal volume so that it drives the LED next to the volume knob into the yellow and maybe a little red. Not sure why this should even make a difference, but I followed the internet advice and it helped significantly. 2) Eliminate stereo signal paths. I had two different reverbs on left and right channels. Sounds amazing with headphones and horrible on the Powercab. Bypassing one reverb did not do the trick. I had to eliminate one reverb and get rid of the parallel path so there was only one signal path, one reverb and no other stereo effects. Now it sounds great!

  • Best solution for any modeling multi effects pedals.

Finally I found solution for my Headrush Pedalboard and Boss GT1000. For the first time I was happy with my sound playing live. Very convenient if you want to use second input for monitor. Works for me great.

  • A must with helix

If using a modeling amp for anything more than direct to front of hiuse or recording , a powercab is a great addition for stage monitoring or to have the solid punch of a amp in the room sound , they def take a little knowledge of file sharing to download irs if you want full spectrum of sound possibilities but once dialed in they can sound phenomenal, for me was well worth the money once i had Helix

I'm torn between getting the sterep 2 x 12 Powercab and the 1 x 12. Truth is I'm an older guy who doesn't play live anymore (so I'm only competing with myself) and I'm using it to primarily get the most from my Helix Line 6 (which I love). I have a Fender all tube Supersonic (if you're not familiar a Deluxe Reverb with gain) and I A-B it with a Near Field amp that doesn't quite do the trick (works fine for recording purposes. I'm curious if you wrestled with the consideration of 1 x 12 vs 2 x 12. And even if you didn't, any considerations/experience you could share? P.S. I've owned Line 6 "stuff" for years and figure Line 6 Helix plus Line 6 Powercab has to be best combination? I realize it's been a year or more since you got it but would love any experience/thoughts you might share. Thanks in advance man!!!
