This is a simple and great tool to use when either recording or providing a clean signal back into my amp's FX return.

This was a Deal of the Day item I couldn not pass up. Professional grade construction, always handy to have Livewire PDI Box. The double shielding ensures a crisp, clean, clear signal, and the heavy-duty construction keeps up with our daily, on the road use. I know these last, so the purchase was a no-brainer.
Good price, great gear

I mainly use this product for small events and it works perfectly fine. I'd recommend it to all my musicians who are just starting out and don't want to spend too much money.

Great useful device especially for stage sound and instrument connection. Helps a lot with stage noise. Could not find anything negative about it.

I have a Roland TD-10 V Drum kit. When using the 1/4" Mono Out jack to my mixer, the sound is extremely distorted. Would this DI help solve that issue using the XLR connection to the mixer instead?
Yes, a DI (Direct Injection) box could potentially solve your distortion issue—but it depends on the cause of the distortion. Let's break it down: Possible Causes of the Distortion: Impedance or level mismatch between the TD-10's 1/4" output and the mixer's input. Overdriving the mixer's input by sending it a line-level signal into a mic-level input. Cable or jack issues (e.g., bad cable, loose jack). Output gain on the TD-10 is set too high. What a DI Box Does: A passive or active DI box typically: Converts an unbalanced, high-impedance 1/4" signal into a balanced, low-impedance XLR signal. Attenuates signal level (some have pads: –15dB, –20dB, etc.). Isolates ground to prevent hum/buzz from ground loops. So if the distortion is caused by level mismatch or impedance, then yes, a DI box can help. What You Can Try First: Before buying anything: Turn down the master volume or output level on the TD-10. Make sure you're plugging into a line-level input on the mixer, not a mic input. Try both mono L/Mono and stereo L/R 1/4" outputs to test for a bad jack. When to Use a DI Box: Use a DI if: Your mixer only has XLR mic inputs available. You’re running a long cable (XLR avoids interference better). The distortion persists even at low TD-10 volume into the mixer's line input.submitted6 months ago

What is the difference if GND is Lifted or Not on the PDI Direct Box? Noise/Interference?
Ground lifting moves the signal from + to -. On way will hum more than the other.submitted2 years ago

Can you insert this DI in between the amp and speaker cabinet so I get the full sound of the amp and effects exactly as comes out of the speaker?
You would not want to hook up a speaker cable to a DI box.submitted7 years ago

Do you think the live wire is better than the whirlwind imp2?
These two direct boxes would be very similar in quality. One would not be better than the other.
