Livewire

collapse expand iconDescription

The SPDI passive direct box from Livewire Solutions features a 1/4" high-impedance instrument input and output, plus balanced and floating low-impedance XLR output that ignores +48V phantom power.

Variable attenuation provides maximum input flexibility, while Lift mode severs ground connection between the input and the XLR output. GND mode leaves ground connection intact between input and XLR output.

great product, good price

This product works well, gets the job done! Good price too. I used this for the keyboard and it got the buzz out, I guess which was caused due to impedence imbalance.

Questionable quality

This direct box is probably OK for a permanent studio installation, where only the 1/4" jacks will be routinely plugged/unplugged. The XLR jack is plastic and will not wear well, so it's not a good unit for gigging. The attenuation switch seems to throttle back the output from an active bass on the -20db setting about 15-20%, but the -40db and 0db settings yield nearly identical output. This box is worth about half it's price, IMO.

Using dual 1/4 inch inputs from digital instruments. Getting clear stereo out the other end. Small, compact, sturdy, professional looking, easy to carry around. If you need a box for your studio or gig, this is the tried and true product. Does not disappoint. (don't forget to buy cables for it too otherwise you might not anything coming out the other end lol)

  • I'd definitely buy this again

I use it for my solo acoustic shows. I like it because it gives a slightly more rounded sound than plugging directly in. At this price point, it's perfectly fine. Nice and sturdy materials

I own plenty of these DI, it's great for the price. What is really awesome is the warranty. If one goes bad just take it to guitar center they will swap it.

I have the small Kustom KPM4 floor monitor. I have 2 acoustic guitar amps that uses a 3/4 in guitar input. The KPM4 has one 3/4 inch and one Mic input. Can I use this DI Box to connect one of the amps allowing me to run 2 acoustic guitar amps into the KPM4? We have an acoustic guitar duo and would like to hear both guitars through the monitor.

I’m very sorry. Your question is not clear. What do you expect it to "work" as? Running big wattage, through a DI, isn't a good idea unless designed for it ----------- Two Notes AUDIO ENGINEERING Torpedo Captor Loadbox/Attenuator/DI Black 4 Ohm.

Direct boxes are often referred to as “DI” boxes. This stands for “Direct Injection” as their main purpose is to convert unbalanced and/or high impedance instrument signals into a format suitable for direct connection to a mixing console's mic input - without the use of a microphone.
