Vista Deer Tropical Wood Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Description
The Vista Series Deer model showcases a skillfully crafted top, made from attractive tonewoods that bring its unique panoramic image to life. Handmade from a combination that includes paduk, mother of pearl, blackwood, cocobolo, spalted maple, teal abalone, bubinga, and koa, each guitar is a completely unique work of art.
The Vista Deer features a gloss-finished, flamed maple bound, Grand Concert body with choice koa back and sides for enhanced tone and projection.
Precision-fitted with a hand-shaped 25-1/2 in. scale mahogany neck and capped with a smooth, pearl Moon Phase inlaid ebony fretboard—the Vista Deer’s feel, playability, and standalone acoustic sound are nothing short of inspirational.
Once plugged in, the Vista Deer takes off in yet another sonic direction. Owing to a Fishman Presys+ (PSY-201) preamp/tuner, the Vista Deer offers clear, strong, natural acoustic sound on stage—even when going against dense instrumentation.
Whether plugged-in or not, the Vista Series’ incredibly full tone, pristine clarity, and unique visual presence make it the ideal instrument to make your musical statement.

Annoying Design Flaw That Luna Won't Ix

Not cool to pay $800+ dollars for lazy production quality. This may not bother many buyers but the stencil of the deer and buck are cockeyed and angled improperly in this current production run of the Vista Deer. Such a beautiful instrument ruined by lazy production work. I returned three units and each one was worse than the one before. I called Luna and spoke to Brad who acknowledged the flaw but offered no solution except to return the unit and wait for the next production run. I've bought the Eagle, Oasis, and Vineyard. I fear this is my last Luna. A shame.
I would not buy this guitar again.

Guitar arrived out of tune and did not seem to have been inspected properly nor undergone a "set up" procedure. It is a beautiful guitar, but is in the category of a a "to be displayed but not to be played". The strings that are on the guitar give it a "heavy" action on the fret board.

I have owned this guitar since 2018 and I absolutely love it. It has excellent action, great sound either unplugged or plugged in. I was worried about it staying in tune but have had no issues with that at all. This has been everything I wanted in a guitar and more. The beautiful unique design is the cherry on top of this fabulous instrument.

The guitar visually is stunning artwork and has medium appeal on sound quality, It has a nice feel to it after lowing the action about 1/8" plays much better. I have to constantly tune/retune, still not sure if its just breaking it in taking time or what so riding out time to see how it is in a few weeks, I'm a little disappointed in the Fishman Tuner, when it says each string is actually tuned, I can still turn the peg quite a bit up and down before the tuner recognizes flat or sharp tone, quite a big margin of error in tuning available leaving you to tune by ear after you get it in general tune, several times I had it perfectly lit up with exact tuning according to their lighting scale and I strum and scare the cat because of how out of tune it is. Once you tune by ear and get it sounding descent it has a medium rich sound and I like that the body actually hums back towards you from back of the guitar body for added feel of the music. Might try a different tuner and possibly locking tuners if situation doesn't get better.

I watched whatever u tube videos I could find on all the Luna Vista Series before deciding on the Deer version. It would be helpful if this site added a video without alternate tuning. The particular blend of the tropical woods do matter for overall sound it produces and of course you don't REALLY know if it's going to be a good fit all around until you play it. I couldn't find a music store that carried it, so being able to return it (if needed) free of charge (from the Guitar Center) was a plus. After all, I wouldn't purchase a guitar just for the aesthetics. No regrets here...I absolutely love the sound, the look, the feel of the slimmer cutaway body under my arm...the overall craftsmanship. It seems like they thought of everything....note the phases of the moon inlay's, the addition of a peg for strap, the fisherman pickup...and a VERY nice case included...and most importantly, a fairly affordable price for such a great package! I've had it a month or so and haven't played it amped up yet...it produces such a loud beautiful sound that unless your playing out, you don't really need the pickup (but bonus to have anyway). In comparison to the Martin I've played for years, the action is a little lower which makes it a bit easier to play also. I cannot speak to the longevity of the product yet, but for now....I'm very happy with it.
Love it... beautiful

Gorgeous, but easy to scratch. It does not have a pick guard so you could scratch it up really quick. Great for display and occasional play. Sounds good and play nice !
