picked this up just to see how bamboo was, turned out to be great, change strings to martin monel 10's, set up medium action, nice sound, have gotten good feed back on sound at open mics, stays in tune, and travels well,

So, I had to give this guitar a chance. If you look at my earlier review, you can see that it was very poor, and unfortunately, still is. I took it to my luthier to try to get some of the dullness out of the sound, put new strings, a bone nut, and a bone saddle on it, and still it sounds dull. It has no top resonance at all. I normally love Luna's guitars, but this one started out as a real drag. So it's still going to be a campfire beater guitar, since neither my luthier or myself could get anything out of it.
Sorry, it's going to be a beater

I love my Luna 12 string, but this 6 string bamboo is not a nice guitar. Oh, it's aesthetically pleasing, all right, and the Grover machines are very good, but the guitar has a rough finish, since the striations in bamboo lend that quality, and this is the flattest sounding guitar I have ever played. It has no voice, no projection, and no sustain. Kinda like playing a tin can. It holds tune well, but it just doesn't compare with traditional guitar woods. I really hoped for better, but this guitar is destined to be an around-the-campfire pass around guitar, because it sounds so strictly utility.
