Though their hand-hammered and lathed surfaces with warm sounds are rooted in tradition, but Meinl Byzance cymbals are the ultimate choice when it comes to modern versatility. Every Byzance model is hand hammered into shape by cymbal artisans in Turkey, giving each cymbal its own unique and colorful voice. The overall presence that Meinl Byzance delivers is dark, buttery warmth that flows around crisp definition.

These Byzance Dual Hi-Hats are a stunning contrast of extra dry and brilliant finish with a unique combination of hammering and lathing. These cymbals are versatile and dynamic with a full-bodied sound that has applications in almost any musical setting.

I've had these for about 2 months now and was purposely waiting to review them. I never thought two plates of metal would sound so good against each other. They're bright, yet deep and trashy. They're also incredibly responsive. I've used them for live performances and recorded with them as well and they sound terrific even with no processing. I've included a YouTube link from a video I did so you can hear them in action!

  • Really dig these hihats!

These hats are very versatile and could be used for a variety of different genres. I'd been looking for hats that were slightly on the darker side, that were musical and trashy at the same time. These fit the bill! Plus, the stick definition on these is awesome.
