The MEINL Classics Custom Dark ride cymbal offers a versatile sound with rich overtones that cut through any mix. This innovative cymbal produces a full spectrum of tones from shimmering accents to crashing crescendos.
Rich, Complex Tones
The Classics Custom Dark ride cymbal delivers a balance of definition and warmth with a touch of darkness. Its hand-hammered bronze construction provides a blend of high, mid and low frequencies for a sound that is both cutting and rich. When played lightly, it responds with a shimmering wash that elevates your drumming. As you increase your dynamics, it opens to reveal a sea of overtones with a hint of trashiness. This complex, musical cymbal inspires your creativity.

Its wide range of sounds allows you to use it as a crash, ride or for accents and crescendos. This highly responsive yet controllable cymbal gives you the freedom to adapt your playing to any style from rock to jazz to electronic music. With a single stroke, you can go from a shimmering wash to a full roar.
Premium, Innovative Design
As part of the innovative Classics Custom series, this ride cymbal features a specialized lathing pattern and hand hammering that enhances its tonal qualities. Not "custom" quality. Put it on my cymbal stand, thought I was crazy because it sounded so much worse than at the store. Asked my bassist, "you can't use that it sounds like garbage." Don't expect much. I returned it.

I bought this ride to replace my HCS ride, and I was not disappointed. I fell in love with this cymbal, and I'm switching out my cymbals to get the entire set.

I have been looking for a great ride for a while, to the point I got rid on my Sabian 21" AAX Raw Bell and played with no ride for a bit. I was stuck on Sabian since all my cymbals are Sabian, but I was not happy with any of their rides..I was willing to spend up to $400 but nothing pleased me. So I saw this beauty sitting among others and decided to give it a try. Fell in love immediatly. It's the perfect balance between dark/bright and washy/focused! This is something I was struggling to find, all rides I tried were either too washy or too focused. This Meinl 20" ride delivers so many different beautiful tones and the bell sings loud and clear. This ride is perfect for prog metal in my case, since it cuts through very well but at the same time blend with the lower tones of our music. Oh and then look at that price! Unbelievable, Very recommended

This is a great cymbal that is explosive and consistent. I've had this cymbal for approx. 2 years and have done recording and live and this cymbal cuts through to get a solid tone. I've switched this ride to my main 20 crash ( stack) and gets a very unique sound and contrast with my other Meinl's. If you like the dark sounds and bright, responsive cymbals, this dark ride is the answer!
