collapse expand iconDescription

The Meinl Direct Drive Cajon Pedal gives you seamless playability. With the curved bar positioned at a 45-degree angle, your foot is comfortably placed in front of you for natural ease of use. The bar pivots around the post in the middle for added stability while the spring tension makes it react like a bass drum pedal. • Great Idea, Poor Fit (Only Works with 13–14" Cajons)

I really wanted to love this pedal... the direct drive design feels smooth and responsive, and the build quality seems solid. But unfortunately, it just doesn't fit my Meinl Sierra Birch Cajon. The clamp is too long and only fits cajons that are 13–14 inches deep. Mine is slightly smaller, and there's no way to adjust the clamp shorter; only longer, which makes it completely unusable in my case. It's especially frustrating since both the cajon and pedal are made by Meinl — you'd expect them to be compatible. I reached out to support for help, but I really wish this kind of compatibility info had been listed in the product description. It would've saved me the hassle. If your cajon is the right size, I think this pedal could be great. But if not, you'll likely need to modify it or look for an alternative.

I use it as intended. Love this set up! Better than the chain driven pedal. Glad this was the one I got. 👍🏼👍🏼

  • So I am on the second one and have it as a spare

So they redesigned this pedal and It is indeed better but still fails in the same place. Now mind you I am playing two three hour gigs a week and some open jams as well.. but in the end my knee was hurting because of the motion of it. So I took the mound and made one of my cajon a separate bass. But for a person who uses it just a little bit , it would probably be a good fit.

It came assembled backward. I had to take it apart and reassemble it to get it to function correctly. Their weren't any instructions on use or how to set it up.

We have a small church that I have used my cajon. This has added to the percussive element of our service

Did not like. I like the idea of a direct drive pedal but the design and playability was not for me.
