I've had this little gem for over a year now, and have never regretted the purchase. I bought it because it was "cute", never dreaming that it would have such a great voice. I can get three distinct tones from it (my hands are small - someone with larger hands might not find it as responsive). It's small enough to take anywhere, and lends it's voice beautifully to small ensembles or solo playing. The quality of its construction is outstanding. I own several djembes - all the way up to a 10". This one definitely has my heart!!
how to play the mini

I spent hours on you tube trying to figure how to play the mini. I finally found a video by two guys that make and sell a mini djembe that is the same size. They suggest using your finger tips. I tried it and heard my fist decent sound. So if you want to learn djembe with good bass, tone and slap technique, get one that is much larger. but, if you like the small size and price use the tips on your index fingers and have fun. I would have given it a 5 star rating if some one from meinl had given me a clue how to play it.
