I saw Marv Ross of Quarteflash use an egg shaker with a strap on it attached to his hand to make shaker rhythm while strumming his acoustic guitar. I tried making a similar device but they never lasted long before they broke. This does the same thing and will hopefully last a long time.

It's got a good sound and works great in an acoustic venue. The differentiator is the elastic loop that allows you to play with it on your hand while playing a cajon or on your lead hand playing time on a hi hat. I have seen guitarists also play with it attached to their finger. Will I use it all the time? No, but when I need to it just gives an extra dynamic.

I use it in a full drumset setting to add a percussion effect. The ONLY issue i have is that the band is not adjustable, and apparently the people at Meinl think I'm a bigger dude than I am. Haha!
