Helps me use the heavy Djembe so I can just worry about playing it and not having to hold it.

The stand is well made and very sturdy. Easily adjustable for different size drums and for different heights. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is there are no instructions included and you have to figure it out like a jigsaw puzzle. If you don't have decent deductive reasoning skills, good luck. Thankfully, I do!

This stand is very well built. It is sturdy and the djembe fits snugly and does not move when playing. The only knock I have is that it will not adjust to a height that I can stand and play. If you plan on playing from a seated position this stand is excellent...5 star. I was looking for a stand that.bring the djembe to the height of my congas. For the height limitation I rated it a 4

OK, I've been researching and trying out Djembe stands for over a month now. My son has just started taking Djembe lessons and his Djembe is slightly to heavy for him to hold tilted between his legs. Also, I wanted one for when I play for long periods and didn't want to have to hold my 26lb Djembe the entire time. I initially bought my son a plastic Djembe holder so he could move it around but it wasn't sturdy and shakes when he plays his Djembe. We got rid of that one. I then purchased the Gibraltar Pro Djembe stand, which we like but the arm holder puts it out of place for my son and its very heavy! We use that one at home for my Djembe and if we ever have to play standing up, we will use that one. The Meinl Steely 2 is great! The rubber top parts holds the Djembe steady and protects your Djembe. The rubber bottom makes it very sturdy and it doesn't move at all when we play. We have 4 Djembe's at different sizes and it fits all of them. Playing off the ground allows the sounds to come out louder and much more clear. While I like the shiny chrome when using it at formal events, I wish it came in black for playing outside or in small groups. The weight takes some getting use to, when moving it around. Because of how sturdy it is and how great it sounds and how relaxing it is to play and not have to hold up our Djembe's, my son and I really like this stand.

How much does it weigh? Is it good for rope tuned djembes? What is the diameter of the ring?
