MXR

collapse expand iconDescription

The MXR Iso-Brick Power Supply is small and light with tons of quiet, noise-free DC power on tap ready to run a wide range of pedal types without crowding or weighing down your pedal board.

Each of the Iso-Brick Power Supplys 10 outputs is fully isolated, eliminating gig-ending ground loop noise. Whether analog or digital, positive or negative ground, this power box has you covered. The MXR team broke down these 10 outputs to accommodate a variety of voltage and current requirements: two 9V outputs at 100mA, two 9V outputs at 300mA, two 9V outputs at 450mA, two 18V outputs at 250mA, and two variable outputs adjustable from 6V to 15V at 250mA. The two variable outputs can be used to emulate voltage sag, a drained battery effect sought by many vintage tonechasers.

On top of all that, the Iso-Brick Power Supply comes in a small, lightweight housing thats built like a tank. Features power on/off and connection status LEDs. Put this little box on your pedal board to make sure it runs reliably and quietly gig after gig.

No noise! Great Value

I've looked at a lot of the popular power supplies on the market like some of the voodoo labs and Truetone 1spot bricks and this one seemed to have the right amount of outputs for the price. I'm surprised that these don't seem to be more popular. I had some noise before I bought this and now everything is quite and absolutely no noise (still a little pickup hum, but my noise gate squashes that completely; no power noise at all). The LEDs are very bright but I guess that is better than not bright enough. I have a Pedaltrain Pro and the cables were long enough that I was able to string my Time Machine nearly all the way to the opposite corner of the board. I was a little concerned about the "sag" outputs but it seems that you can just set them to 9V and they act as a normal 9V output. Also another huge point that I didn't really see anyone talking about on the internet: it seems to power the Digitech Whammy 5 flawlessly. NOTE: this is the version 5 that is 9VDC from the factory (not the AC older versions). So the original Whammy power brick and input say 1300mA, but the Whammy manual says that it consumes < 265mA. I think the adapter is a generic Harmon adapter for many things and so they just want you to use what they already make which happens to be 1300mA max. The pedal will only pull the required amperage from the brick at 9V, which again is < 265mA and I'm pretty confident that value is accurate, otherwise it wouldn't be in the manual. To be safe I put it on the 450mA output and it works great! Not for me

I'm running an average of 6 pedals. Sometimes I'll add a wah. This had plenty of ports but did not sound isolated. Voltage requirements were just fine and none of my pedals require12 or 18V. I returned it and swapped for a pedal power2 plus that works just fine. No cables were on or near the MXR and I do not run it under the pedalboard.

My Dunlop DC Power Brick finally died. Needed a power supply to get my gigging pedalboard back up and running. I'm running 2 18 volt overdrives, so the MXR DC Iso-Brick was the ticket. I wish I had upgraded a while ago. Clean, isolated power got rid of all the noise I'd been tolerating for years with my old power supply. I could not be happier! #sweepstakes

Isolated power with a great selection of 9v ports (which it seems most pedals require). I have 0 noise when my equipment is idling. Sounds good and looks good too.

  • Excellent source of clean, noise-free power!

This has been a welcome addition to my recent pedalboard build! Older power supplies were very noisy, especially with high gain pedals. The ISO-Brick supplies clean power so even the nastiest fuzz/drive pedals don't have any hum passing through the chain.

The Iso-Brick by MXR is compact, extremely solid and can handle pedals of different voltages.
