    For me, this product meets a very important need. Until now, I was unable to use my phantom powered mics for home recording. Perhaps it's the wiring in my house or my proximity to the local radio station, but the interference and noise I would get when using the built-in 48v on my USB interface and other devices made recording with condenser mics impossible. I was going crazy out trying to figure out the issue and how to solve it. The M48 fixed the problem instantly. Dead quiet. I assume it's because it can run on a battery and therefore is isolated from the house's electrical current. Brilliant. A beautifully simple and affordable solution. I've owned several Mackie products so was confident buying this one.
