Mix 8

Description
The Mackie Mix8 is an 8-channel compact mixer that provides full-scale functionality in a rugged yet portable package. Perfect for straightforward applications with minimal input needs, the Mix8 delivers the proven quality that musicians and audio engineers have come to expect from Mackie.
High-Performance Preamps Provide Pristine Audio
Two studio-grade mic/line preamps offer premium audio quality, switchable phantom power and high headroom to capture every nuance of your performance. Connect microphones, keyboards, drum machines or any other line-level device and experience flawless signal routing, low noise and wide dynamic range.
Shape Your Sound With 3-Band EQ
A 3-band EQ on each channel provides precise tone control so you can sculpt the perfect mix. Tweak the highs, mids and lows and create a balanced blend of frequencies that sits well in the overall mix. Cut or boost as needed to fix any issues at the source.
Flexible Monitoring and Routing Options
In addition to the main stereo outputs, the Mix8 offers a dedicated headphone output with separate volume control as well as RCA inputs and outputs for recording, playback or as an additional signal path. An aux send can be used to connect external effects processors.
Roadworthy and Reliable
Housed in a rugged all-metal chassis, the Mix8 is built to handle the demands of life on the road. Mackie's signature protective side cheeks provide extra impact resistance and the mixer's compact, low-profile design takes up minimal space in your gear bag or desktop. A solid investment for small venues, content creators and anyone who requires a simple but high-quality mixing solution.

Excellent Device
I picked one of these up today after I sadly found out that my NI KA6 couldn't actually output to 2 pairs of monitors simultaneously unless it was in monitor mode. I was very disappointed in that, since that device comes with software and is non-returnable. Oh well, my fault for not researching better I guess. I have a pair of Rokit 5's and a pair of Rokit 10-3's and I wanted to use them at the same time. What to do. Some people said to use a splitter to split the balanced output signals, and other people said that was a horrible idea. I didn't know what to do. I was very glad to find this little device. I now have it set up to output to my 10-3's as the "main" outputs and to my Rokit 5's as the "CR" outs and it works wonderfully. I have my NI KA6 on input 3/4 and my Traktor S8 on input 5/6 and the whole setup works excellent. I can use the separate CA knob to balance the Rokit 5's out since they get bright on some tracks compared to the massive 10-3's. Sound quality is excellent and the device is cake to set up and use. I really have no complaints for what I'll be using this little guy for.

Good Features; Too Much Noise/Hiss
I am using the mixer to route a couple instruments to my audio interface and to monitor (at home) and from my audio interface to a PA and my monitor (live/rehearsal). It has all the right connections to make this easy and possible. However, even when most of my cables are balanced or short, there is a lot of noise/hiss when I turn up the gain on channels, and I hear it on both my master output as well as my monitor output. Mind you, this is with the knobs turned at most halfway up. It will do for my situation, as I am not using it for recording or gigs that aren't already competing with loud conversations, but that amount of hiss for an extended period (like when I am writing and practicing) is exhausting.

I route recordings through the mixer to drive two pairs of powered speakers. Pros: provides great control of the mix. Cons: I have none to report.
Noisy??? Yeah right…..

In response for the people that say it makes so much noise, this is absolutely not true at all if you have the gains and tuning right as well as power supplies away from the signals, etc. I like this mixer! 😱 Only problem it feels like cheap plastic, also wish had more features

No frills analog mixer. No effects. Just pure analog routing. No USB out. I'm using as a submixer on a dawless rig into an behringer xeynx 802. Pretty much for additional inputs i needee. Sound quality is good I like it. Price point is fair for the # of inputs and routing capabilities. Really don't have any cons on this one. Wish things were a bit cheaper. But it's 2024.
FUNCTIONAL BUT SKETCHY

I bought this mixer for monitoring low latency fx on live vocal tracking. It works great, other than it shoots sparks from the power input EVERY time you plug it in. I'm worried this mixer will either burn the house down, or is going to fry itself within a short time period. It DOES work fine though once it's powered up.
Works perfect!

Hello, I am new to live sound and want a simple set up for two dynamic mic for acoustic guitar and vocals to run in to a Kustom 50. The Behringer XenxYx 502 has only one mic input. Any suggestions from among your mixers to do what I am trying to accomplish? Thanks. Jim
