Description
The SRM350v3 has a "built-like-a-tank" chassis that is cut in such a way that it is also an excellent wedge floor monitor. Not only that, there is a voicing select switch that when engaged for monitor use, adds greater upper end clarity for vocal intelligibility and an enhanced feedback rejection. When using the SRM350v3 in a DJ context, the Speaker Mode switch adds just the perfect low-end bump. It likewise has a setting optimized for solo entertainers.
A flexible two-channel mixer is installed in the back panel as well, allowing you to use one SRM350v3 as an entire PA system. The built-in mixer features two XLR/TRS combination jacks, stereo RCA inputs and discrete gain controls for each channel. Lightweight, versatile, loud and clear.

Very clean as monitors; surprisingly strong as mains

I do sound for 2-4 bands in the area. I have a V-1, a V-2, and 3 V-3 srm350 units. I quit using my JBL 10" monitors when I purchased the Mackies. I have had no problems with the srm350's in 2-4 years of use. I have 4 srm450's I use for mains, but I have used the srm350's for top mains with a crossover sub. The srm350's have handled everything I've thrown at them. I would and will purchase more as the need arises.

Have spent the past year researching, buying and trying, and demoing a wide variety of main speakers to be used in a wide variety of scenarios, such as personal home and recording use, rehearsals and performance, and even as portable speakers to merely knock around the patio, garage, park or occasional house party, etc. Compared to similar size high end speakers, these 350's have blown me away with real high definition pro audio, articulate, crisp and clear mids and highs, and a tight solid bass characteristic of larger speakers. I am a fastidious and avid audiophile that seeks out the best pro audio available, and for the money, the 350's provide exactly that; small, light and extremely portable, as well as powerful and robust. I've tested these speakers for weeks at high volume and they continue to provide the best overall sound quality that money can buy. Backtracks sound almost live, as each instrument stands out. These speakers can easily cut though almost any mix. Highly recommend, and for the price, a real no brainer:)
They do what they are meant to do.

Our church has been using these for over 4 years as vocal monitors. They are haven't distorted and sound great for what they are used for. We never boost the volume past 75% and don't put heavy bass into them. Even though they are a 10" speaker with a shared 1000 watt amp, it is a full range speaker not a subwoofer. So if you use if for what it is meant to be used for, they work great.
What has happened to Mackie?

The boards on these things blow up. Then it costs like $250 for the replacement module. Mackie will not stand behind the poor design. If you are comfortable replacing them after just over a year then hey, go for it. For me it is a waste of money. Mackie used to make good products and stand behind them with a high level of customer support. Everyone is cutting corners now a days to increase profits I get that. I repaired the thing the first time, not this time. I am not going to spend $250 a year in to perpetuity to keep these things going.
