The Markbass CMB 101 Black Line brings the famous Markbass sound to an amazingly affordable price. Designed with students and beginners in mind, it's the perfect amp to start developing your talent and passion for music.

Shape Your Sound With Simple and Effective Tone Controls

Dial in your ideal practice tone with the CMB 101 Black Line's intuitive 4-band EQ, featuring dedicated low and high midrange knobs for shaping your fundamental frequencies. Kick in the Scooped switch to add brilliance and bite to the highs or hit the Boost switch to fatten up the lows with some warm tube-like saturation. Having responsive tone-shaping at your fingertips inspires you to experiment and develop your own signature sound.

Jam Along Silently With Headphone Out

Plug your headphones into the dedicated headphone output and rock out to your heart's content, without disturbing others. The CMB 101 Black Line combo faithfully recreates the Markbass magic right in your headphones, so you can practice unplugged anywhere, anytime. Develop your playing technique and get lost in the music, whether you're in your bedroom, backstage or on the tour bus.

Mix In Media Playback With AUX Input

Connect your smartphone, tablet or MP3 player to the AUX input, and mix in your favorite backing tracks or songs with your bass tone. This makes practice sessions more fun and inspiring. Dial in just the right blend of playback and your own sound via the CMB 101 Black Line's master volume knob.

Connect to PA Systems With Preamp Out

When you're ready to jam with your band or perform live, just connect the combo's preamp out to a PA system or mixer. The CMB 101 Black Line provides the great Markbass sound on stage or in the rehearsal room. The unbalanced preamp out captures the preamp tone, allowing you to send a strong signal to the front of house.

...I thought I'd get a little more punch & volume out of the 40 W. It's great that they finally made an entry-level product, w the great tone options, just not sure if it'll fit the bill for the occasional small venues i got it for. I should know over the next month or so... (bought for use w an upright, btw) #sweepstakes

This is my new home practice bass, but I wouldn't have any problem using this at a small venue gig -- it is much more powerful than it appears to be, and considerably more so than the competitors in its class. It's light enough and the on-board controls are easy to see, navigate, and are responsive. But, as with measuring the quality of any amp (especially bass amps), the chief consideration has to be in the way it sounds. If it sounds bad, no level of power matters. The tone of this bass amp is absolutely buttery, and it suits my style which is a jazz bass with expensive flats. Though this bass is capable of carrying precision tones equally well, it is wonderfully paired with a J bass. Finally, I was fortunate to get this on sale, and as such it is a tremendous value, even when not on sale. I'm glad I got the Markbass instead of the other more well-known brand -- it's a much better, more powerful amp than the other brand that has more wattage.

  • Great Purchase!

I picked this up as a crazy cheap Cyber Monday sale and extremely glad I did. I am using this with a Squier Affinity Series Precision PJ and I am very impressed with the sound and volume this little thing puts out. I am an old drummer, just now learning bass and the CMB101 makes transporting very easy, especially compared to the Ashdown Superfly and old 15 I have also used.

Do the tones set on this amp pass through to the line out on this amp to the PA or is the line out to the PA without EQ?
