I could not find a review anywhere's so here's something to start with. First of all, I am a beginner playing an inexpensive Yamaha TRBX and a 100 watt Kustom amp. So, all entry level equipment. I wanted something with an equalizer so I could reduce the noise I make moving along the frets and provide a richer deeper tone than what I could generate with just the limited knobs on my bass and amp. I also wanted to try playing with the distortion. Well this certainly does the trick all in one. Being able to turn down the upper three bands takes out a lot of the extraneous finger noise I make on the fret board and provided a the deeper richer tone I wanted. Also, gives the lower strings more of that bass punch. Lots of distortion from nearly none to insane. When plugging into the effects side of my amp it sounded terrible, but that's what several You Tube videos said about distortion pedals. I would have given it five stars , As I was hoping to turn off the distortion totally off and just use the equalizer, but even at the lowest setting a trickle of distortion still comes through. I was trying to decide if I wanted to keep it when my wife came in. I asked her what she thought and played her a few things at varying settings of the equalizer and distortion. Her remark was, "you can get a lot of really cool sounds out of that little box." So, it's a keeper. Thanks for reading and I would like to see how others review the Markbass MB7.
