Its mini-Marshall!!!
I got this little amp a couple of days ago and I am amazed by the quality that Marshall put into this thing. This is my first Marshall and it has left a good impression. The ability to walk around the house, park, or city square and noodle on my guitar is priceless. Although it is a little pricey for an amp that is smaller than my hand, it is worth it because of the quality. The sound is so clear. The distortion (or Over Drive to be technical) has a very AC/DCish sound to it. In fact the first riff you would probably want to play in OD mode is the one from Back In Black. Overall, great product. What else would you expect from a Marshall?

its small and sounds small
This unit is quite small, approx 5"x5". Its almost toy-like. The tone isn't bad, but there's not much of it, as you would expect with a little battery powered unit like this. You can get a real amp (cheap, small) for $50-100 so if you want a real amp, look elsewhere. If you just want some little thing to play in certain situations, this may suffice. I only use it when watching TV with wife so it doesn't bother her much.

Too weak, distorts too easily, no use cases.

I got one to see if I can have my electric amplified by something I can fit in my backpack for travel purposes. Technically yes I can, but the maximum volume is far below usable in a live setting and the amp distorts too easily as well. I just don't have a use case for an amp like this. Even the first amp I ever had, while being half the size of my suitcase, had much more headroom. Next time I travel with my electric and need a small amp as well, I'd rather make room in my suitcase for that amp than go through the trouble of getting anything out of this attempt at a fun-sized Marshall.

I picked up my Marshall MS-2 Mini Stack around 1990 just to have something light and mobile for personal/practice use in places where an amplifier just wouldn't work. Think camping in the mountains or hanging out at the beach or on the boat. It sounds a lot like one would expect a 9v .5w mini amp. to sound. Not great, but it'll do in a pinch. I have not babied this little amp. It has lived a hard life and eaten hundreds of 9v batteries. It's got some issues now, due to many drops and other mistreatment over the decades and has a cracked circuit board that I jury-rigged to function (mostly) properly. Sometimes it requires a good solid whap on top to get it to stay on. I've been considering picking up a new one, but this old trooper still has at least another decade left in it as long as I can still work a soldering iron.

Product does what it claims, but it's really nothing more than a plastic toy. It is overpriced by a factor 2. I purchased an Orange Mini amp after this and it is a far better value for the dollar.

When I got it, it didn't work. My buddy let me use his amp because I thought I had a bad cable but It turned out the amp didn't work. if I play extremely light I can barely hear it, but if I try to play it starts popping.

Will it work for a bass guitar ?
This amp would work with a bass guitar but it may lack lower frequencies, so it may not sound very good.submitted7 years ago

Can you use this mini amp with a bass guitar as well?
This would not represent the frequency of a bass guitar very well.
