collapse expand iconDescription

Ideal for experienced players looking to build on their skills, the Grand J-16E 12-string from Martin is a full-bodied, muscular guitar that generates well-balanced harmonics with a strong, solid low end. Crafted with East Indian rosewood back and sides, and a spruce top, this powerhouse looks as good as it sounds. Even when unplugged, this acoustic-electric still delivers beautifully resonant tone that fills the room due to the scalloped X-bracing pattern. A high-performance taper neck makes this a comfortable 12-string to pick up and play.

I got a good deal from GC and it was on backorder. Played fantastically and set up right out of the box. Sounds full and rich. Primarily use @ church for Christian Worship but also occasionally for playing at a few Brewpubs. Sound, quality and price cannot be beat. Check it out!

I began my "find a better 12-string journey" with a Martin DX several years ago, then promoted to the Taylor 250e. Well enough. My favorite acoustic 6-string of all-time (playing 40 years) has been my amazing Martin MMV, so when I saw this model had the same solid spruce top, solid rosewood back/sides, ebony bridge/board, I tested at my local shop. Fell in love. The most fantastic sound and feel as expected from a good Martin is there, but the cherry on top is its performance neck, the same dimensions (adjusted to 12-string width) as the MMV. At LAST, a 12-string that sounds amazing, full, bassy AND one with which I can replicate every single song I can play on my 6-string without issue or eventual hand fatigue. It's pure joy to play. Hope this helps!
