The Martin GPC-11E Road Series acoustic-electric guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides for a balanced tone suitable for any playing style. The GPC-11E sports a Performing Artist profile neck for a slim, fast feel, as well as a cutaway for easy access to higher frets. Fishman MX-T electronics give you a natural plugged-in sound and the built-in tuner mutes the output for discreet tuning. Gorgeous mother-of-pearl inlays grace the soundhole rosette and fingerboard. Pick up the GPC-11E Road Series acoustic-electric at for an affordable guitar ready to hit the road.

Resonant Tonewoods Project With Clarity

The GPC-11E gets its balanced tone from a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides. Sitka spruce provides strength and elasticity for a wide dynamic range, while sapele produces a focused midrange and sparkling high end. Together, these tonewoods yield a clear, well-rounded sound suitable for any genre.

Performing Artist Neck Plays Fast and Smooth

Martin designed the Performing Artist neck profile to feel familiar in the hand while allowing for extended playing sessions. Its slim, rounded shape gives you unfettered access across the fretboard so you can play at any tempo with comfort and accuracy.

Fishman Electronics Offer Convenience and Control

The Fishman MX-T pickup system captures the GPC-11E's natural tone for a realistic plugged-in sound. Unique to this system is the built-in tuner, which mutes the output signal when engaged so you can tune discreetly on stage. Adjustable controls let you shape your amplified tone to suit the venue.

Premium Gig Bag Provides Road-Ready Protection

A premium soft shell case is included to shield your GPC-11E from the rigors of transport and storage. Padded handles and a durable shell keep the guitar safe on the go, while pockets give you space to organize cables, straps and other accessories.

Fantastic solid wood Martin.

I just purchased the Martin GPC-11E at the Fort Myers Guitar Center. This is a solid spruce top, solid Sapele Body Martin Guitar for under $1,000 making it a fantastic value. GC gave me a very nice discount on the floor model making it just too tough to walk away from. The sound is fantastic as well, with crystal clear highs, full mid range, and soft subtle lows. The model I bought has not been set up yet but will not need much, if any adjustments. The aesthetics of this guitar are very nice for an instrument in this price range with features such as pearl inlay around the sound hole, pearl fret markers, and a gloss finish on the spruce top. This model comes equipped with Fishman Pickups that features both volume and a tone controls inside the top of the sound hole but easy to reach. It has a very clever on board tuner that is located inside the sound hole down low, can be easily activated with a single touch of a button and the display is easy to see, and when activated mutes the input of the guitar so tuning while gigging is simple. I own a Taylor costing more than twice the price of this Martin, a 1990 Guild, and a solid wood Alvarez 12 String and none come close to the balanced sound of this Martin. This Martin guitar is built in Mexico which allows for premium features at an affordable price but make no mistake about it, Martins luthiers in Mexico make fantastic instruments. I love everything about this instrument, regardless of the great price I paid.

Set up was way off the mark

It was delivered to my home. When I started playing it just was not right. It was buzzing on the 3rd and 4th frets. It also had dead spots on the fret board near the 8th fret. Had to take it in to get to play right. The guy who fixed it said that he had never seen a new guitar need that much work.

After playing for around 4-5 yrs it was time for an upgrade. I was using a fender as my beginner guitar and it did the job pretty well. This guitar has been a perfect upgrade for what I was looking for. My style has always been more to fingerpicking and it has been perfect.

First one I bought had issues Through my PA and DAW sounded like soft low battery distortion, guitar center said well everything seems fine but we can exchange it. Waiting on the new one now. Overall sounds incredible, better than my Gibson. Bright mids and highs and mellow low end

  • Solid choice for an all solid wood Martin

These things sound pretty darn good: the combination spruce top with sapelle back and sides produces good tone. The question one needs to ask is whether you need to stay at this price point, or whether you can afford to save a little more for a standard series or maybe a 15 series. If I could have done it over I would have saved up more and gone that route but this is a well made guitar and mine plays great. It's a little heavier built than the ones I referenced but sounds really good for the price.

I like the box. Sounds great. Mine does NOT have the built in tuner. NOS or a change Martin made and have not changed their verbiage.
