collapse expand iconDescription

Martin MA140 SP 80/20 Bronze Light Authentic Acoustic guitar strings are engineered with the performer in mind and they will always stand up to rigorous practice and performance schedules.

Martin starts with their highest tensile-strength core wire, then tin-plate it on all six strings for added corrosion resistance; because what you don’t see matters. When coupled with the highest-quality wrap wire, you get consistent true tone that you can count on song after song.

This is a 80/20 Bronze Light set.

Good, quality strings

I bought 2 sets of these about a month or so ago when they were on sale. I have used Martin strings in the past so these were not a total surprise. I am just picking the guitar up again after playing off and on since I was 14 years old. MIddle aged guy now. They play and sound great. The strings meet my needs for lessons, practicing, and jamming along with other folks. My guitar is an Ibanez Artwood AW100 that I have had for many years. In the future I will probably go with these but in a Custom Light or Extra Light gauage set. Good, dependable strings.

Disappointing For Martin Brand

I have never put on strings and took them off before. What a disappointment! I bought these for my Martin D28 and they sounded awful. These are cheap garbage!

I have used these strings for many years now. They are durable and have a good feel when playing. They are easy to change out and give a great tone for many uses. I usually change them out ahead of time just as a precaution. I definitely recommend them to anyone that plays an acoustic guitar!

Put these on my new Gibson j-45 standard after trying several other string sets. These were the best by far. They are good right away (a little bright at first but in a good way). They sound like they're made for this guitar. I would like to try some Gibson 80/20 strings but locally we don't have them here. Now that I found these, I don't think I'll need more unless I just wanna have fun experimenting.

  • Excellent tone.

I put these on the most rare one of a kind handmade acoustic I own. Very good match for a guitar set up for volume/ bluegrass old timey music.

  • Will purchase again from MF
