collapse expand iconDescription

The Martin MA540S Marquis Phosphor Bronze Light Authentic Silked acoustic guitar strings, constructed using 92/8 phosphor bronze, these light gauge strings provide a balanced tone with sparkling highs, crisp mids and a tight low end. The silk wrapped ball ends shield the bridge and bridge plate from damage while restringing, maintaining the integrity of your instrument.

Silk-Wrapped Ends Prevent Wear and Tear

Martin Guitar designed the MA540S strings with wound silk at the ball ends to prevent scratching and gouging of the bridge and bridge plate. The silk wrap creates a protective buffer between the metal components and your guitar's finish, keeping your instrument pristine through countless restringing sessions.

I use Martin Marquis strings on all of my acoustics. There were recommended 25 years ago by my Luthier and have never had a problem with them. The tone will bring you the very best of your instrument if mounted properly.

I put these strings on a couple of weeks ago. I trying out various strings and these seem better than the Ernie Ball and D'Addario strings which both seemed to have buzzy B strings. So far, not a problem with these Martins. I like the tone and sustain of these strings.
