collapse expand iconDescription

The Martin OM-28E Modern Deluxe Orchestra acoustic-electric guitar combines time-tested craftsmanship with cutting-edge enhancements. Featuring a Sitka spruce Vintage Tone System (VTS) top, dovetail neck joint and natural protein glue construction, this guitar delivers Martin's signature rich, aged tone that has defined the acoustic experience for generations. European flamed maple binding, stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners and a unique 1930s-style script logo inlaid in pearl on the headstock give the OM-28E Modern Deluxe a stunning vintage-inspired look. Ultramodern features like a titanium truss rod, Liquidmetal bridge pins with red dots and a composite carbon fiber bridgeplate boost volume and projection without adding weight. The onboard Fishman Aura VT Blend system provides studio-quality plugged-in tone with unmatched adjustability. The OM-28E Modern Deluxe comes with a hardshell case and Martin Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 light gauge strings.

Vintage Tone System Ages Wood for a Lifetime of Sound

Martin's revolutionary Vintage Tone System chemically ages the spruce top to replicate the tonal characteristics of a well-played vintage guitar. The wood stabilizes and opens up, producing fuller, richer tones with enhanced complexity, projection and note definition.

Aura VT Blend Delivers Complete Control Over Your Tone

The Fishman Aura VT Blend system gives you an unparalleled level of control over your plugged-in sound. Blend between four professionally modeled images to produce stunning acoustic tones for any live performance or studio application. Adjustable controls allow you to shape your sound with surgical precision.

Solid Tonewoods Provide a Lifetime of Beauty

The OM-28E Modern Deluxe pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides for a perfectly balanced tone with rich overtones, superb projection and a stunning depth of color. The ebony fingerboard feels smooth and fast under your fingers.

Vintage Deluxe Neck Offers Modern Comfort

The Vintage Deluxe neck profile feels instantly familiar and comfortable. Slightly asymmetrical shaping provides ideal ergonomics for chording and single-note runs up and down the fretboard. A Plek-dressed fretboard ensures an immaculately leveled playing surface free of buzzes and rattles.

Originally I ordered a 20th Anniversary OMJM. I decided I didn't want to wait. I read about all of the features Martin incorporated into their Modem Deluxe line and decided to buy the OM28. I am thrilled. The VTS torrefaction process makes the top sing. This is the perfect guitar.
