Martin

collapse expand iconDescription

Part of their X Series line, the Martin Special 000C-X1E Jett Black HPL acoustic-electric guitar provides an eco-friendly design with pro-level playability. Its comfortable 000 body and High-Performance Taper neck give you effortless access to 20 frets, while the built-in Martin E-1 pickup system ensures a balanced plugged-in tone. Constructed using recycled and sustainable materials like an HPL top and Richlite fingerboard, the Special 000C-X1E sounds as good as it looks.

Tough Tonewood Combo

The guitar's black HPL top, back and sides can withstand changes in the environment, be it temperature or humidity, better than solid tonewoods. It's also less likely to get scratched or dented whether it's through playing or travel, so you can attack it with all the dynamics and no worries.

Fast, Comfortable Neck

The Special 000C-X1E's High-Performance Taper neck profile and Richlite fingerboard provide fast, effortless playing. A 1-3/4" nut width gives you ample room for complex chords and melodic runs. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned pro, you'll find the neck extremely playable.

Studio-Ready Electronics

The onboard Martin E-1 pickup system gives you a natural acoustic tone when plugged in. Volume and tone controls sit within easy reach below the soundhole, letting you shape your tone on the fly. An onboard tuner helps you stay in tune for optimal sound. Simply plug into your favorite amp or PA and you'll have professional-grade acoustic tone at your fingertips.

Eco-Friendly Build

Martin constructed the Special 000C-X1E Jett Black HPL acoustic-electric with sustainability in mind. Its HPL top and binding are made from recycled materials, while the Richlite fingerboard comes from FSC-certified wood sources. You can feel good knowing your guitar was built with a lighter environmental footprint.

This guitar sounded good the day I got it, but the next day the bridge came loose. I've tried to contact anyone about getting it fixed under warranty, but no one will get back with me. I've contacted both CF Martin & Co and my local Guitar center. As for the guitar itself, perhaps I just got a bad one. It happens. Before it broke, it had great tone and a comfortable feel in my hands. It looks great, too. The gig bag it comes with seems durable and has a removable cushion and strap for the neck. The strings it comes with are a light gauge with a bright tone. I would say it's a good guitar for all stages in your journey with the instrument, from begginers to experts. I couldn't test its built in tuner because it came to me with a dead battery and I don't have 9V batteries on hand.

  • A great guitar.

Website very easy to use. Great selection. Great quality as well. Bought for husband for Christmas and he loves it. The sound of guitar is awesome and the looks of the guitar is very eye appealing. One of his favorites and mine too. It's the only Martin he had in his collection. Very satisfied with purchase.

I received this guitar yesterday. I purchased as a travel guitar, due to the materials it's made of. I was surprised at the feel and sound coming from a guitar that's not made of solid wood. After setting it up the way I like it, it was great. I own an all solid wood Martin as well. This one has a different sound, but it's a good sound. It plays excellent. The neck is very comfortable, fretboard is smooth, electronics are great, gig-bag is solid. I'd have nothing negative to say at this point. I played it for a couple of hours after setting it up. I didn't want to put it down.
