I use this amp both at home and when gigging. For myself, a classic rock and metal player, there is nothing lacking with the Triple Crown 100. Everything from clean tones to heavy metal is well represented. With the cab clone feature, using the amp in my home studio is very convenient. The build quality is great. I am very happy with this amp!
Best Mesa amp I've ever used/owned

I had a Mark V 35 before and loved it, amazing amp, but limited for live performances mainly because of only having two channels. I was on the market for a new head, and my obvious choice was the Mark V 90 but wanted to also try something else. I came across the Triple Crown 100 and decided to give it a shot. I am very happy I did. It is exactly what I couldn't find on the Mark V, a bit warmer sound with a TON of gain thanks to the EL34s. Channel 1 is typical Mesa cleans. I don't use the channel on "Drive" mode, just sparkling at 100w, plenty of headroom. Channel 2 is the perfect rock crunch. Powerful with a ton of definition. I push the gain ALL the way and is still crystal clear, not muddy at all. Channel 3 is a gain monster after 3 o'clock. Very crunchy saturated tones with a bit more oomph than channel 2, clearly for metal and modern players. I do play metal/prog and it suits me just fine for both 6 and 7 strings. Features wise, it has everything you could possibly need. Single output control, channel-independent reverb, DI for practice, reactive load for cab'less playing, midi, etc.... One thing to highlight that's different from other Mesa amps is that the dials in the Triple Crown work as you would expect, they don't max out at noon. I know this is a weird observation but for getting anything decent out of the Mark 5 35 I had to push and attenuate the amp. Needless to say, that the attenuator in the Triple Crown is the cherry on top, you can play this amp at midnight with people sleeping in the other room or at a big gig. All this in the same form factor of a 50-watt head. It is nuts. Can't go wrong folks, there's a reason why there aren't many TC 100 pre-owned out there in great shape.
