Sweet sound and impeckable construction
I came across this at my local Guitar Center when looking for a guitar for my grandson. I was very impressed with the construction, appearance, playability and tone of the instrument. I had always thought of Mitchell as cheap garbage guitars, but this guitar easily matched any 3/4 size below a Taylor or Martin. Sustain and volume were very impressive for such a small guitar. Ultimately I went with a Fender MA-1 because I think that at eleven, its longer 23.3" scale will fit him longer. But based on appearance and performance, had the scale been the same I would have bought the Mitchell over the Fender or the Yamaha. Really changed my opinion of Mitchell guitars.

Good sound from a little body, tuners need replaced
This is a fun little guitar with a great sound. My complaint lies in the timing machines which I had to replace to get it to stay in tune. That said, I still think it's worth the money because of the quality of the rest of the materials (solid top, Nubone nut/saddle, etc).

I avoided Mitchells for a long time. My background is largely ukes, and their inhouse ukes have a cheap feel to them that I found offputting. However, When I picked up a Mitchell 3/4 DJ120, my tune changed, literally! The tone on this keeps pace with name brand guitars, and its voice does not suffer from its diminutive size. I love everything about this wonderful guitar!

I gave this little guitar a try, tuned it up and was really surprised, with how well it played. I played a folk classic rock song, and it performed as well as a full-size guitar. PERFECT FIRST GUITAR for a child. I FULLY RECOMMEND THIS GUITAR

I bought a guitar from Guitar Center and I want to learn to play and my 7 year old grandson expressed an interest in learning to play also. The helpful man at Guitar Center suggested a smaller guitar for him so I bought this one. It seems like a good guitar for the money and he really likes it. We are having our first lesson this week at the local Guitar Center. I think this will be fun to learn together and will encourage us to practice together. I think it will be good bonding time,

How do you connect the strap to the headstock without a string? The strap has a slot for a button at each end, not sure how to connect to the headstock the way it came.
There is no button at the top you need to tie a string at the headstock.submitted3 years ago

So, I bought this guitar for my son. It actually sounds pretty good. It came with a strap bit it only has one spot for strap to connect to. What am I missing here?
You will hook the strap to the button on back then the other side to the headstock of the guitar
