Great Potentiometers for that vintage feel

I ordered two of these pots to use for the volumes in my '58 Korina Flying V reissue with early '61 pat# pickups. These pots feel dead on and sound similar to the original Centralab pots (date coded 1960) I have in my Les Paul burst conversion. The low torque really gives you that broken in 50 year old pot feel. Easy to adjust with a slight touch from the pinky. The sound is brighter/clearer then today's standard CTS pots and this is something that is absolutely apparent in the old Centralabs. This attribute is really something that is a major part of the equation when talking about the "PAF" sound. I would definitely recommend the 500k for your Les Paul or other PAF humbucker style equipped Gibson. Thank you Mojotone

Ground solders very easily. Don' Like the post through the back but, if you're careful you should be fine.
Very loose and flappy - taper still humped between 8-10

These are nice quality and are what they are spec'd to be. The tolerances on resistance are tight and when I bought 4 from mojo directly, they were all within 1% (although spec'd to 7%). But I find the taper is still humped between 8.5-10 and the torque spec is so low these feel flappy and loose. Some people like that super loose feel, but I like a more viscous feel and to feel like the knob will stay where I put it.

Does this pot shaft have the right diameter for Epiphone Les Paul knobs?
Probably.
