Great synth, not just for buzzy/rezzy bass sounds

I loved the idea of this synth, but I was skeptical whether it could do what I wanted. I watched every video I could find, but they all showed people exploring the wide range of sounds without talking about how it might be used on a regular basis. It's cool to twist the knobs and get those buzzy sounds with a lot of resonance, but I wanted a bass synth that could give me smooth sounds for playing left-hand bass while my right hand is playing organ in a jazz/soul setting. After failing to find a store that had a demo unit I could test out I broke down and just bought one. After playing a few gigs with the minitaur I can confidently say I am thoroughly impressed! There are many features of this synth that I will never use, such as the LFOs, and I'll hardly ever turn the filter cutoff knob past 9 o'clock. But even with that limited usage, the mintaur can be a very expressive instrument. I cranked up the velocity sensitivity and filter tracking, and I always set both envelope sustain to zero. With those settings I can get something reminiscent of an electric bass. I realize this is not how most people will want to use the minitaur, but if you're looking for a compact solution to get excellent left-hand bass sounds then the minitaur is a great choice!
Great sound and helps you learn the basics about analog gear.

Great classic Moog sound that cant be found anywhere else. If you're unfamiliar with analog gear/synths you can learn a lot by routing your signal in and out of this unit. http://www.moogmusic.com/products/taurus/minitaur#demos-tab

This synth is all you spect from Moog. Very simple to use and if you are into eurorack modules, having the CV inputs makes this synth worth every peny. The sound is very clean, fat and Moog like. You have all the basic controls on the front panel, and you can also access other parameters via MIDI. This is a must have synth if you are into electronic music.
