Good Value
For the price, the stand is well constructed. Do heed the warning about the effect of the foam sleeves on nitrocellulose finishes (I neglected to read the warning tag attached to the stand thinking it was a price tag - d'oh!). Rather than return it, I simply went to a well-known auto parts store and bought a couple sections of 5/8" rubber hose (the kind for fuel/vacuum) and replaced the foam with it. Et voila! With a minimal amount of effort, I now have a sturdy stand that won't harm my bass's finish. The hose even looks better than the foam did. Beginners: if you don't buy this stand, buy another. Having your instrument at the ready definitely encourages practice!

Beware
I ask for a stand when I bought my new guitar. This is what I was given. I wasn't warned in the store not to use this on my new Les Paul Standard. Exactly one week on the stand and it ruined the neck. I see it printed here not for Nitro Cellulose Finishes, but apparently the salesman didn't know or didn't care. Called and they say Not Covered. Make sure you know what your getting.

The guitar holder is stable and made with materials that secure your guitar safely. The bottom piece of the holder rotates so that no matter which angle you put the guitar in the bottom holder always catches it perfectly. Just drop your guitar in the bottom piece and it will stand perfectly and beautifully upright.
That's all I can STANDS…I can't STANDS no more

This holds my fender jazz bass and other 6 string electrics nicely in place. Wide legs gives firm footing. Easy to assemble.

What is a nitro-cellulose finish? I understand vintage...but? I have a Martin 000-15m satin finish...looks semi-porous. This stand...Safe with that Martin?
Not safe for a Martin. Nitro is an oil based finish. What is mostly used is acrylic - water based.submitted4 years ago

Is the bottom part where the body sits supposed to be loose? It can rotate around the axis easily and is not snug. doesnt seem to be a problem but just curious
Yes, it is supposed to be loose to accommodate different shaped bodies
