Perfect case for my Dean Black Tennessee A/E Mandolin

not necessarily for all A-styles

This is a very nice and well constructed case from what I've noticed so far. It seems very durable and has a very nice interior. The only issue I may have found is that my A-style mando has an arched body, so the fit is quite snug. I have to make sure that the mandolin is pushed down enough to close the lid. I haven't noticed any negative effects to the body or tuning yet, though, and it does keep my mandolin from moving around. it just seems a tight squeeze. A great case otherwise!

Uneasy fit

I bought this case online for my Rogue RM-100A A-Style Mandolin. The case seemed well-built and the mandolin fit snugly, but the case is not deep enough, in my opinion. When I tried to close the case, it seemed as if it was too shallow to accommodate my mandolin. I could close the case by forcing it down, but I worried that there was not sufficient clearance for the instrument. I felt that there was too much pressure on the top of the bridge when the case was fully closed. Guitar Center didn't seem to think this was a problem, but nonetheless, the fit made me uneasy. I returned the case for peace of mind. For now, I'm using my tennis racquet cover temporarily.

    I build instruments and in order to keep them protected a decent case is necessary. This case fills the bill. It is well built and sturdy. The only thing I would add is some material in the inside to rest the instrument in. Without such material the mandolin sort of "raddles around" a bit.
