Incredibly stable boom arm at an incredibly low price

This boom arm is a great deal, considering its great stability and strength. The adjustable length of the boom is an added plus that you wouldn̴��t expect from a $15 arm. For the price they̴��re selling it at, this thing is so much of a steal, I̴��m afraid that the police are going to show up at my door sometime soon to take it back to GC. Don̴��t even bother with the other booms. You̴��ve found the only one you ever need.

Decent after correcting defect

I had a gift card after completing a GuitarCenter survey and wanted to apply it for a boom arm. This seemed to be the ticket and cost me next-to-nothing after the gift card. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed to find that the screw for the telescoping boom would not tighten to fix it in pace! The screw hole was incompletely tapped!! This seems like a basic quality control matter that was not caught at the factory as it should have been. Good news is my dad had a set of taps and was able to correct it for me instead of me having to return it and wait for a replacement to ship to the store. It functions OK now, hence the 3 stars.

    I mounted a couple of overhead mikes from the ceiling in my studio. Using a Mike base and this boom worked great!

    Good boom for the price. I tried to use it with a heavier studio microphone and it kept slowly inching down, but that could just be something I'm doing.

    Bought this to use for weekly church services. Screw hole for boom adjustment stripped in less than 5 months of weekly use. Local Guitar Center store said it was no longer covered by warranty. Invest in a better built unit such as the DR Pro Tripod Mic Stand with Telescoping Boom (#101810125).
