Good buy

Using these for extras and believe they'll do the trick.Groovy price for stands and cables.Used the cables in a recording and didn't have any line noise out of them.

OK, for low budget or garage practice.

I have been involved with live sound reinforcement for years and have seen many stands. This is not the worst you could get, but it isn't up to par for a performance. They would be fine for the "garage band" practice session or the like. The boom length adjustment is a screw that on most stands presses against a plastic piece that holds the boom, on these the screw digs into the boom scratching it if moved without loosening first. The adjustment for the angle is similar to most others, but it requires quite a bit of force to get it tight enough to hold well. The hub at the base is a stamped metal piece with rivets at the hinge points. They don't stand up exactly straight and seem prone to tipping due to the poor hub design. If you need a stand for something that isn't going to get adjusted all the time, they work. If you need a stand that gets put up and taken down constantly and used for many people who are always adjusting, not good. I purchased these on a flash sale, for what I needed them for, they will work fine. The cables that came with the package seem fine, not anything high end, but usable.

The first time I used one the little knob that secures the boom slide stripped, it is a joke, the metal it screws into is thin, tiny, and poor quality, loosely mounted in a thin resin collar. If you put a mic that has any weight at all like a normal LDC, that little screw will not be able to hold it. Other than that bit that makes is useless, it isn't bad you could use it for a coat hanger for a light coat.

  • I thought this was a pretty good deal.
