Great buy!
I got this mini mixer in the hope of extending the channel capacity of my 10 channel mixer, for outdoor music programs. It looks like it will work for that. With eight inputs, each with its own volume control, A and B master volume controls, and a mono/stereo slider switch in the back, this is quite capable! Although this is four channels, it behaves like it was eight. The eight inputs are 1/4", so there is no microphone hookup to this unit. No problem! I hook the A and B outputs to my 10 channel mixer, and I have eight channels for voice, if I need them. This unit is battery powered, and there is no information as to how long the power will last. I would suppose that the more instruments you plug in, the less time you will be able to operate. Make sure you are using a fresh battery. If you don't, the unit may not work correctly. I used a partially discharged battery at first, and thought I had a bad product. This mixer acts as a "pass through" path for the instruments, to provide hookup to, and channel conservation for, my 10 channel mixer. It has passed all the tests I can give it right now. We'll see what it does on the 8th of September, at our final "Music in the Park" program!

Why use a non-standard power supply?
Haven't even powered up yet, and I'm already disappointed. Went and grabbed a 9V power supply off of my Boss Distortion Plus (since I hate using batteries unless necessary) and the plug doesn't fit.

I use it for routing instrument cables to my DP24 recording console and it works as advertised making my non-standard setup possible. The only thing I was not happy with is the power supply doesn't have a standard 9v plug. I thought I could use a splitter on one of my existing power supplies but found out that I needed to order their specific power supply. Not a big deal but I'd gladly pay another $15 to not have been surprised that none of my existing ones would work. Aside from that slight inconvenience and two day delay waiting for the supply (nobody runs this stuff on batteries) all went well.

Excellent sound quality, flexible design, easy to use as 4 stereo or 8 mono channels. Perfect for my minimal and often changing needs.
Cheap and good.

Perfect for running multiple stereo keyboards, through a stereo amp. Had one for too many tears, this one replaces it for cheap.
