Purchased this system to replace an old one that I had for over ten years. It is a lot sturdier than my old one and has cranks to raise lights. Takes me about 15 minutes to put together; 30 minutes toatal with lights. Be careful not to overtighten plastic connectors because they will break over time. Keep your manual so that you can order replacement parts. There isn't any carrying case for the unit so I store it in the shipping box. It is a great investment and you will not regret it.

I own a Mobile DJ company and I'm very happy with this product is very sturdy very well designed I will be purchasing more. With the bar fully loaded the crank handles work excellent for the 10 foot trust with the lights on it. Anyone getting into the business or an established business looking to upgrade their system this would be a great product to add your inventory. The T bars are designed very sturdy very strong and support mechanism works very well.

I really like this lighting truss. The cranks make one man setup possible and the unit is good and solid. I will have to echo others' comments about the instructions though. For the most part, they are completely indecipherable. After 45 minutes of moving the parts around, I finally figured out how to assemble the truss without them. Now that it's together, I can say it's an awesome piece of gear and looks to be more than road worthy.

    • Great price... worth the money!

I had my reservations about ordering this package due to the price. I've learned in the past that you get what you pay for! I also know that just because it's expensive, it doesn't mean it's that much better either... So anyways, I really liked the price on this set up because it included both of what I was really looking for in a lighting truss system but just a little worried because I actually considered this a "good deal" and I wanted to make sure it wasn't just cheaply made. After ordering, it arrived on time, so no problems there. I got the T-bars first and opened them up. I have to say, these were sturdier than I expected. Has a little weight to it and they seem to be built very well. The height on these are awesome. I think they raise up around 10 to 12 feet, so this gives plenty of clearance for your lights in pretty much any setting I would say. So far, I can only see where there are two complaints with the T-bars. 1- When assembling the bars to the stand, there are to many nuts and bolts with only a hex key to loosen or tighten them all. From a mobile DJ point of view, this makes it time consuming. They should have added knobs or wings nuts to make the installation process a lot quicker. Other than that, no complaints about the build quality. Its pretty tough once all is in place. 2- When placing the straight tube into the stand and it comes time to raise the T-bar in place, the holes that line up are not big enough to place the safety pin in place in all positions. The pin fits on some height settings but not all, which will cause you to have to drill the hole out slightly bigger. Not a major problem as long as you have a cordless drill and some drill bits handy, but none the less, a slight hassle. Basically in a nutshell, you shouldn't have to do that. It all should fit straight from the manufacturer; I think we would all agree. The 10ft truss came in the next day and I have had time to really do a full set up on it, but from what I can see, it's made just as well as the T-bars. It has more weight to the stands than my last set up which helps with stability, so this is good. the crank stands also make this a breeze when it comes to getting the lights to your desired height setting. (my old rig was manual... not fun when you have a full light set up.) Having the cranks sure does make things a lot quicker. So all in all, everything seems to be good. I'd give this rating a 5 so far due to build quality, fast shipping and price! If I ever get a chance to put this thing to use with a full set up. I'll give everyone an update.

I've had this setup for a several weeks now, long enough to take it to a half dozen gigs. We're a local cover band, different venue every weekend and this far outshines our old system of individual stands. Very versatile, looks cool, and once we made some modifications, easy to set up. The drawback is in the t-clamp design - if you're taking this rig apart frequently, it's a pain to get the truss into the stand sockets. The plastic is brittle and the nuts fall out easily, and you need 2 or 3 pairs of hands with a good balance of brute force and finesse. I built a hinge for the truss center and permanently mounted vertical tubes on the ends, which now drop onto inserts in the stand tops. A couple hours' work in the garage to save 30 minutes for each gig's setup time. Overall I'm very pleased with the look, quality, and stability. Definitely worth the price, even with the cost of modifications.

Is this just the rigging system or does it actually come with the lights? Also, does the large piece expand outwards?

This is just the rigging, no lights.
