I've got several of this type of guitar stand. This one was just as effective at a good price.

Solid guitar stand, performs as expected. I had to finish threading the set screw into the base to get it to lock and stabilize. Once that was done, it works as it should.

Adjustment screw for raising and lowering the neck holder does not lock in place allowing the guitar to drop to the ground. Very small neck holder. Does not work well at all with wider neck guitars. Acoustic steel strings must be turned sideways to get in there when you do this they usually bang against the frame.

I took it out of the package, opened it up and noticed a very small hanger. I had to force my 4 string in it ( forget a 5 or 6 ) I had it all the way extended so my bass would not hit the ground. Unfortunately the plastic piece holding the tightening screw broke and my bass hit the ground (HARD) I am sending it back today ( didn't make it 10 minutes ) I wish I could give it negative stars. Lucky for me this happened at home, it would have been a real disaster if I was out playing.... I guess that is why hurcules stands cost so much...I learned my lesson the hard way....don't buy this if you love your bass

This is a great, sturdy stand. It holds my bass perfectly. If you have a Gibson Thunderbird you'll have to have the top neck part turned all the way to the side so the body doesn't sit directly on the metal, but still works and looks fine.
