    The design and execution of these devices leaves nothing to be desired. Machined to perfection utilizing not one but TWO standard thread sizes, of the finest highly magnetic steel for what is sure to be eons of use, I almost feel that these belong in a museum instead of my humble studio. I am not worthy!

    This adapter can serve two purposes: 1. to adapt American 5/8" mic clips & shock mounts to European-style 3/8" stands, or 2. To make a mic riser for stereo pairs, acquire a 5/8" to 3/8" mic stand adapter (American to European) & use Loctite thread locker to add this component (European to American) to the 3/8" end. The result will be a 5/8" to 5/8" metal adapter about 1" to 2" in length. This allows you to elevate the tail end of a pencil condenser mic above the other in your ORTF stereo pair, or elevate one capsule above the other in an XY. Yeah!
