collapse expand iconDescription

For pro expression control in a compact package, there’s no better choice than the BOSS EV-30. Its small footprint is perfectly suited for cramped pedalboards, while the die-cast aluminum chassis offers a rock-solid foundation and BOSS’s famous rugged reliability.

A key feature of the EV-30 is an innovative internal mechanism that provides ultra-smooth feel and precise parameter control, delivering performance that rivals full-size pedals. And with two expression outputs, you can save more space by controlling two different devices from a single pedal. The outputs are electronically isolated, eliminating the possibility of noise issues from ground loops.

The EV-30 brings powerful real-time parameter control to the many BOSS compact pedals equipped with expression pedal inputs. It’s also ideal for use with BOSS multi-effects processors and effects switching systems. A handy polarity switch provides compatibility with a wide range of music gear, allowing you to use the EV-30 with most devices that support expression control.

I got two of these to minimize space on my pedalboard, to work along with the two expression inputs on my Quad Cortex. I'm happy with the small footprint of these, the solid build quality, the smooth operation of them, and the multiple options for dual output and min/max settings that I'm not even using yet. I went back and forth many times over which expression pedals would be best for my setup - really happy I decided to go with these. They're great!

Like many Boss pedals, it's built like a tank and it works without any issues.

I tried this pedal out after purchasing a different one that didn't comply with my keyboard. This pedal works really smoothly and accurately. I'll probably buy a second one as a backup for my gear. The only reservation I have is that I use it standing up and the pedal has such a full range of motion it makes it a little difficult to bring it all the way back to zero. It's working my ankle pretty hard, but worth it!

Can I used this as a wah wah pedal with my boss kitana 100 watt amp

Yes, you can use the EV-30 as a wah pedal with your Katana 100, but: You must connect it to the “EXP/CTL” jack on the back of your Katana 100. In the BOSS Tone Studio software, you’ll need to: Assign the Expression Pedal function to control Wah. Set the FX block to WAH. Make sure the expression pedal is set to control pedal position (not just on/off). The EV-30 has two outputs, so be sure you're using EXP 1 into the amp (or whichever jack you're assigning in software).

Wondering if this pedal will work with Roland FA-06 as an expression pedal . (Instead of EV-5) It seems to be a more sturdy unit. Hoping for same results.
