Behringer

collapse expand iconDescription

The Behringer S16 digital stage box brings immense flexibility for connecting microphones, instruments and other gear on stage to your mixing console and recording equipment. With 16 XLR inputs equipped with premium microphone preamps and 48V phantom power, the S16 handles anything from vocal mics to acoustic guitars with pristine audio quality. Two ADAT optical outputs allow you to plug into digital mixers and interfaces to capture multitrack recordings or front-of-house mixes. For low-latency digital transfer to the console, the S16 provides both an Ultranet port and AES50 connectivity. On the stage box itself, performers can check their signals via the direct monitoring jack and headphone output.

Mic Preamps With Phantom Power Amplify any Source

The 16 XLR inputs on the Behringer S16 utilize high-end microphone preamplifiers to reproduce the true character of vocals, acoustic instruments, amps and more. With individually switchable +48V phantom power, you can confidently use condenser microphones that require external power. The preamps preserve sonic detail beautifully, ensuring your sources translate transparently at front-of-house. Their wide gain range accommodates everything from ribbon mics to active basses.

ADAT Optical Outputs for Digital Multitrack Recording

Two ADAT optical outputs on the S16 provide effortless digital transfer of all 16-input channels at once. By connecting to an interface like the Behringer FCA1616, you can capture pristine multitrack recordings of your live performances. The optical outputs are also handy for creating stage monitor mixes, side mixes and more. With ADAT Lightpipe's 24-bit resolution and sampling rates up to 96kHz, your recordings benefit from exceptional clarity and frequency response.

ULTRANET and AES50 for Low-Latency Digital Transfer

The S16 includes an ULTRANET port and AES50 connectivity for lag-free digital transfer of audio to front-of-house consoles and monitor mixers. Both protocols provide 16 channels of 24-bit digital audio over a single CAT5 cable. With round-trip latency under 1ms, you'll experience none of the timing issues associated with analog snake cables. Remote control functionality even allows you to adjust preamp parameters like gain and phantom power right from the mixing console.

Direct Monitoring for Checking Your Mix

To hear exactly what's coming off the stage, the S16 provides direct monitoring capability and a headphone jack right on the stage box. Simply route any input channel or output mix to the monitor output in order to check tones and balances. With the ability to monitor independently from the console mix, you can dial in sounds confidently. The S16 makes it easy to communicate with the front-of-house engineer for getting your ideal onstage mix.

Preamps sound great, unit is built like a tank. I removed cover to check how components are mounted and I have to say all caps that are standing are glued, also all wires that can vibrate are glued. The Units frame is made very well. Power supply is a switched supply that has a shield built all around it and is grounded to chassis. All XLR's are Neutrik PCB mount connectors. Everything about this unit is PRO,, I'm very happy with the design and sound quality of these units... Keep up the great work

The term 'restock' refers to an item that may be lightly used. It is either an open box item or possibly a return. However, the item should still be in 'like new' condition.
