Celestion Greenbacks
I replaced the two Peavey Sheffeilds that were in my 2-12 cabinet with two Celestion Greenbacks. I use a Sovtek 50 watt Mig head and and use a Boss OD-1 for overdrive. The Greenbacks made an instant difference. My tone warmed up and became full instantly. I would HIGHLY recommend these as an upgrade for any cabinet. I would also like to add that the buying experience online with Guitar Center was flawless...Thanks

They are just ok.
These speaker are just ok. They are the china greenbacks with the green plastic backs. I thought for sure they were the made in England greenbacks. The sound is not much different from the sound of the stock G75-T that came in my Marshall 1960 LEAD 4x12 cab.Oh ya your amp will not be nearly as loud either, and you have to be careful not to put too much power to them , or they will blow. They are not worth putting $500 worth of China speakers in a $400 dollar cabinet that came with made in England speakers.

The Perfect Speaker for Classic & Hard Rock!

I've gone through many different speakers through the years. But I've found that the Celestion G12M Greenback is the best for the style of music (classic rock to hard rock) I play. I've got a 1976 Marshall cab with Celestion Black Backs (same specs as Greenbacks), and they sound very similar to the new G12Ms. I installed two G12Ms on the top of my 1973 straight Marshall cab and two Celestion G12H30s on the bottom. Sounds great. Very balanced and gives you that classic Marshall rock sound.
Sure why not

This is a good speaker for its intended purpose. Granted it's not for some heavy stuff as it's rated only at 25w but it's good for low level guitar fiddling. It's not a deal breaker either, I like the tones it offers.
legendary for a reason

i have this and a vintage 30 in a marshall origin 2x12 cab. combined with the retubed origin 20 head it is stellar! this is the speaker on every major recording of the 60s and early 70s. there is nothing better
Classic rock tones, tight and very focused, nice breakup.

Much tighter low end than Creamback version. Classic rock tones on bridge pickup, very focused midrange. Very balanced tonally across strings.
Love this speaker, been using for years

Great speaker, the one many others are judged by.

The greenback has become my go-to speaker for vintage crunch tones. This latest purchase was to replace the Alnico Blue in my VOX AC15 hand wired. I love the Blue for crystal clear clean tones; can't be beat, but I don't play much with pristine cleans. My style is always using a broken to crunch tones, and I've always loved the way a Greenback pushes those tones.
