Excellent vintage qualities. Highs not harsh, more rounded.

  • Pairs well with vintage 30's in 4x12 (top of cab above V30s)

Ordered 2 v-type speakers. One had a defective voice coil/wiring around/to voice coil and went out in the first hour with only 60 watts going into on the clean channel of my Sovtek Mig 60 tube head. I like to break in speakers separately in an extra 1x12 extension cab that i have. Musiciansfriend sent me a new one after i explained the situation and were just as surprised as me about the factory defect Anyways, i got the two v-types are broken in and installed the speakers in the top of my Acoustic brand 4x12 model 105 cabinet. Loaded two V30/vintage 30 speakers in the bottom of the cab. (V30s were pulled from a 2000s Laney tt412 cab, and they have the "made in England" label on the magnets) They sound great together! I wanted something to go with my 4x12 loaded with 1984 g65's 65 watt original heritage series speakers that were pulled from an old marshall lead cab. My two 4x12 sound great together/separately now. Loving it. Good sounds for a low price 😉

Sweet toned speaker with cool breakup I think not too much of anything so would work in any amp. Used in all the high end Fenders for its chime and crunch.
