I am occasionally use electric bass, most of the time I use acoustic instruments , a Double Bass and a classic guitar. The electric bass sound is powerful enough for small venues or even outside it can do its job. The second input has also Phantom Power that is perfect from the mic I use for the Double Bass (a small directional microphone Audiotecnica PRO 35) that capture the sound of the bass (both arco and pizzicato) in a more natural way than many other trasducers I have tested. The Phantom power on board is extremely useful and it's one of the main reason this amplifier is really worth the money. You can use it for your electric bass with the excellent MarkBass sound and you can use with any acoustic instrument either with piezo pickups (without Phantom power) or condenser microphones (requiring phantom power). And you can mix the two signals.

What is the input impedance on the 1/4 channel? Most markbass is 1 megaohm. But I figured I'd ask. It would be nice not to have to use a preamp for piezo pickups. And thanks for the review.

Can I get this in black? Like the one I've been using for years, the 101. I really don't like the brown look!
