Darkglass

collapse expand iconDescription

The Darkglass Alpha · Omega preamp pedal is a revolutionary preamp designed to provide bass players with maximum tonal versatility for studio and live performance applications. Created by the bass gear experts at Darkglass Electronics, this premium pedal allows you to shape your bass tone with surgical precision thanks to features like a three-band EQ, low-pass filter, distortion and compression. Whether you play modern metal, vintage rock or jazz fusion, the Alpha · Omega has the tools to craft your perfect sound.

Three-Band EQ Provides Ultimate Tonal Versatility

At the heart of the Alpha · Omega's powerful tone sculpting abilities is its three-band EQ with sweepable midrange frequency control. This gives you the flexibility to boost or cut bass, treble and midrange frequencies with extreme precision. The midrange control lets you select the center frequency from 100Hz up to 2kHz, so you can pinpoint the exact midrange sweet spot for your bass and style of music.

Low-Pass Filter and Distortion Expand Your Sound

The Alpha · Omega features a low-pass filter control that lets you roll off high frequencies for a warmer, more vintage tone. It also has a distortion circuit with control over the amount of gain and blend. This allows you to add anything from a subtle hint of overdrive grit to heavily saturated distortion. With the blend control, you can mix the distorted and clean signals to create the perfect ratio of drive to clarity.

Optical Compressor Provides Transparent Dynamic Control

To help tighten up your bass tone and provide a balanced output level, the Alpha · Omega includes an optical compressor with controls over threshold, ratio, attack and release. The optical design helps provide smooth, musical compression that enhances sustain and adds punch without coloring your tone.

Premium Components and Rugged Construction

As with all Darkglass products, the Alpha · Omega is built to the highest standards using only the finest components. It features a heavy-duty metal chassis, high-quality pots and switches, and Darkglass' renowned analog signal path and circuitry. The Alpha · Omega is a pedal built to stand up to years of intense use, providing a lifetime of tone crafting mastery for the serious bassist.

First foray into bass distortion and I had no idea my sound was missing this until I took a chance and bought it. Adds a mean growl with some bite! Would recommend .

Switch broke after 10 months of light use. Darkglass farmed warranty out to Korg USA who has no plan of action to handle warranty and repairs. Stay away from these, overpriced junk.
