Slash Wah Review

Dunlop

collapse expand iconDescription

Like the guitarist himself, the Dunlop SW-95 Slash Wah is revolutionary and a classic, all at the same time. It sports a hot rod, metallic-red finish and a cutting edge, high-gain circuit for a different and distinct sound. It also has a modified Fasel inductor for sweet, singing top end and upper midrange bite and sparkle on the wah. 18V operation yields tons of extra headroom. LED indicators for distortion on/off and wah on/off modes keep you clued in at all times. Top hat not included.

AWSOME!

This wah pedal is amazing. Over the last two months i have played with 3 wahs, overall this is the most pleasing. This wah goes great with ANY style of music. It gives the greatest tones and even has built in distortion. You may not even like the overdrive but it sounds amazing even without it. So go buy one now!!! you wont be disappointed.

Dont waste your money

I went into Guitar center knowing nothing about Wahs and asked the guy at the counter what would be the best. i wanted to get a very deep wet screaming wah sound. and he suggested this one it looked great i plugged it in and thought it sounded okay and thought i could change the sound more. but i was mistaken. i didnt realize at the time Guitar center works off commission so 90% will sell expensive stuff you dont need. i was young and naive.. the wah is horrible not versatile at all unless u use the distortion trigger and then u just get extremely irritating high treble distortion (like the one we all use to use when we first started playing) i dont even use it for a wah because its more like a half *** volume pedal with a touch of treble. it takes up an extreame uncalled for amount of power so you have to buy a diffrent type of adapter or use 2, 9 volt. In all this is a horrible buy unless you love slash and want this as a collectors item. If you want a REAL wah get the "Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal" you will paying for the pedal not slashes name that i personally taped over so no one could see. i was not the first person to be tricked into buying this wah only to find out its flaws.

I got this as a present awhile back and first off i didn't use it, i went to the internet and read about peoples experience and it was flooded with hate and it was screechy and annoying and the distortion was terrible, after reading this i was hesitant about using it however i plugged it in to my Acoustic G120 DSP, and it was horrifying, it was screeching making just god awful noises, so i tended to the switches and knobs and adjusted them just a tad so they weren't maxed and it sounded beautiful, the distortion was great and the wah was classic and crisp, this pedal is perfect for any gnr song as well as other songs belonging to blues, or even Metallica for some songs. Like all the other custom versions of wah i have tried including the Kirk Hammett and many others i like the tone to this one a lot more probably just because its appealing to me, i love this pedal and recommend it to anyone considering buying it.

This pedal is amazing. Everything from the distortion circuit to the beautiful cherry red color. I have bought this pedal from GC online and it is yet to disappoint! The distortion circuit boosts the wah and it does create some hiss, but that is on a horrible amp with no smart gate pedal. I have the gain at around 10 o'clock and the volume at 12 o'clock and it works! BUT DON""T TURN UP ALL THE WAY!! It makes a screeching noise. This pedal is awesome. The wah sounds like slash himself!! I recommend getting this pedal if you are a Slash lover!!! I got it and I have loved it everyday since. The price is a bit costly, but, for me, it is completely worth it! GET IT NOW!!

This was a pedal that I was dying to have for a long time cause I was such a fan of Slashs wah solos, and the wah is a big part of my style. When I got it for Christmas in 2011 I was in love with it the first time I plugged it in. It was working fine for about 3 months, but then the sound started fading (regardless of new batteries or not) and the LED lights would stop working while it was engaged, and then I would try turning it off and back on, then it wouldn't work at all. It only now works intermittently, or it has to have a power adapter plugged in. I was extremely disappointed with how quickly it gives out, when Dunlop ensures long time quality. I would recommend this with caution, because this isn't the first time I've heard of one giving out so early. Other than all the issues I had, the sound was just as the tone slash would get.
