collapse expand iconDescription

Every now and then you need to kick your sound up a notch. Whether you’re looking for more volume or fatter tone, the Engager Boost is the ideal clean boost pedal. The onboard 3-band EQ lets you shape your tone to cut through a mix while the Frequency switch lets you select the middle frequency range, ideal for shaping your tone precisely. The Engager Boost is also perfect for boosting your signal into a tube amplifier’s preamp, thickening your tone. True- and buffered-bypass modes ensure this pedal plays nicely in any rig.

Designed by Fender's in-house team of experts, the Engager Boost is an all-original circuit. Fender consulted with a plethora of players while designing this pedal, and the resulting stompbox is packed with stage-ready features. The chassis is crafted from lightweight, durable anodized aluminum, and the Amp Jewel LED gives your pedalboard the classic Fender look. The LED-backlit knobs show your control settings on a dark stage at a glance. They even made swapping batteries quicker and easier with an exclusive “patent applied for,” magnetically latched 9V battery door. Fatten, sweeten or blast it—whenever you need to kick your tone into gear, step on the Engager Boost.

The blues illuminated dial accents are a really great touch against the machined aluminum case. Weighty and wonderful to handle, the fit and finish add a big dose in the pride of ownership column. Dials turn smoothly with nice resistance and change the tone, drive, volume and boost according to the amount turned. The magnetic battery door should be universal to every pedal made now. I can't believe this is a new idea. I don't know how I can live without it on my other pedals! It's expensive but very much worth the price of admission. Treat yourself, it's an easy pedal to get along with.

This little boost has replaced my overdrive pedals. It gives me all the boost I need to get my amp sounding super growley and thunderous, but it's still my amps voice. I would totally recommend this to anyone looking for a organic clean boost.

I have been using this pedal everyday since last week and I basically just wanted a transparent boost. I does boost perfectly. If you keep the EQ section in the middle it won't change your sound but just push it. The EQ section becomes very handy when used with overdrive or distortion pedals, specially with the mid boost (excellent with a Friedman BE-OD) and also with the Archer from J Rockett. With my clean sound this pedal made a USA PRS Custom 24 sound warmer and more versatile. It looks solid (only time will tell).

Is there a DC power supply available for this device? I have one and it seems to eat 9 volt batteries! I know I can find a generic one online but I was wondering if Guitar Center has one available already that's compatible.

The Dunlop ECB-002 Plug 9 Volt Adapter would work well and be a good choice.
